Alice: A woman who escaped from being a prisoner of a distant war. She only remembers her name, and her recent escape attempt. Her circumstances change after hiding in a cabin and receiving a letter from a friend that she thought was already dead. On this journey, she feels like somebody is trying to control her, like a puppeteer toying with her strings. Now, she returns to her hometown that has changed for the worse.

Evan: A childhood friend of Alice who joined the military a few years ago. Shortly after he joined the Iron Crusaders, Alice was kidnapped by opposing side. He hates the Knights of Rust for all the pain they caused, especially their Crowned Puppet. The Knights' greatest weapon was responsible for the death of his brother, and he doesn't know that Alice used to be their prisoner. Could her and the Crowned Puppet be connected? For the sake of his sanity, Alice hopes he doesn't know.

Talia: A medic under the employment of the Iron Crusaders. After fighting the Knights of Rust and the Crowned Puppet for years, a part of her is relieved the war is over. Unfortunately, she is paranoid that Gloria, the Crusaders' leader, still wants to continue the Valiant War. That fear slowly gets stronger, along with her need to escape what used to be the Alice's hometown. It doesn't help that after meeting the tired woman, Talia can't help but feel there's something strange about her. The more the medic finds out, the more Alice fears for her safety.
