I work for Walmart, so this is a game I definitely like to sit down and play after a tiring 8 hr shift of dealing with some of the most unhinged people you could imagine.

About This Game
You will go out for a hunt, and you will clear the New York outskirts of all humans with cold blood. You will shoot, you will hurt, you will kill, and you will die. There are no rules, there is no compassion, no mercy, no point in going back. You are the lord of life and death now - and you have full control over the lives of worthless human scum.
You will also run, you will need to think, you will need to hide and fight back when armed forces come to take you down. You will have no mercy for them, because they dare to stand in your way.
Only brutality and destruction can cleanse this land. Only a killing spree will make you die spectacularly and go to hell.

Hatred is not really worth all the hype you might have seen. It’s a simple shooter that tries way too hard to be edgy and dark. The gameplay itself sucks; the camera system feels way too wobbly, and most of the time you can’t even tell if your character can actually shoot toward where you’re aiming, so that’s not much fun either. The only reason I played this game is the 1.333 mod by Igoreso. With that mod the game feels way better and is actually fun (only con is you cant get achievements but eh who cares).
This is bad. I'm sometimes a bit of an edgelord but good god this is egregious, imagine if Postal had no personality nor humour and you'd get Hatred.
In Hatred, you're not the hero in this story, you're the nightmare! Hatred puts you in the shoes of a man who loathes humanity so deeply that his only mission is to erase it, street by street. No name, no backstory, no redemption, just the cold thrill of watching cars burst into flames, buildings crumble, bodies dropping and pilling up. The game’s stark black-and-white visuals, splashed with vivid red blood, craft a grim, cinematic vibe that can make enemies tough to spot but never fails to set the mood. As for difficulty even on Easy, it’s relentless, the enemies are sharp, checkpoints are rare, and the pressure never lets up. Hatred doesn’t pretend to be anything it’s not for it is a raw, unapologetic mass murder simulator with no moral filter. If you can handle the darkness, it delivers exactly what it sets out to. But deep down, I think it’s saying something simple and chilling: some people are just wretched evil, and all they want is to see the world burn.
Didn't deserve all the hatred (pun intended) upon its original release. It's really not any more offensive than Postal or Manhunt. The most offensive thing about this game is that it's just kind of boring and overly difficult at times. That being said I still recommend the game for its awesome edgy aesthetic, and story / voice lines written by the legendary Herr Warcrimer of the Polish black metal bands Iperyt & Infernal War. The latter of which I have a patch of on my battle vest.
I had a good time. Fun and replayable. Nice voice acting and personality too.
This game sucks. It's just not fun. It's super edgy, that doesn't bother me too much, but it tries too hard and just comes off as cringy. The destructible terrain is pretty cool, and would've been great if it was put in a better game. The graphics are alright although kinda bland. The story is hardy worth talking about. But, the game play is just boring. You walk around and shoot people, very little variation. I feel like falling asleep playing this, which is crazy considering the subject matter. Just play Postal 1, that game is actually pretty fun, and it's free. 2/10
we must wage war! wethinks as the darkness enshrine us. so tickle it with thy bullets! sayeth the Comanche. but the darkness crept forth till only an isolate soul remain, a beacon which twithereth and beam. IT SHALL BE I, WHO PURIFY ALL WITH MY LIGHT! munched out the cowardice driven dogwhistle haileth he? surely nay but marcheth forth he may. and so he bumbleth out to tumbleth and shout MAKE THEM PAY. he spun like ballerina summoning star-trains as he twirleth in nylon wake. flashes of heaven skipped upon glades of invisible sheets to reap the weak. and reap they did. indeed. The wheat was annihilated from the chaff and, so was the chaff deleted. For, all were consumed by this purific ivory. How horrifically divine did the opal cream wash over all! The stars in the milky way began to expanden in their buzzening whiteness! Like when ye depart your darkened cave and notice that brightness of the sun flummox your eyes. Or when a camera flashes and in brevity your earthly tethers snap...
A failure in game development addressing societal failures
I'm not big into these kinds of games. Just bought the game cause it was on sale and I remembered how it was a topic in media back when it released, which peaked my interest. I kind of get why. But as others have mentioned, this isn't really anything new or darker than any game before. Sure the atmosphere is quite depressing, mainly because of the black and white style, and the executions are graphic. But haven't we seen all this many times before in movies and other games even. My critique doesn't involve the subject matter. In fact I'm pleased to see that people are covering our global issues (the US foremost) in media such as video games. Now, I can see how some would argue that the subject matter is too grotesque for being openly available on Steam. However, I think that it's important for people to come in contact with these kinds of horrors, considering that they are sadly a reality. Today more so than in a w...
I love the concept of this game, it has a really unique and dark perspective. You're a psychotic killer who kills innocent people in the street just for the sake of it. But I must say the gameplay isn't all that fun, with the aiming mechanic being disorientating, and the killing can get a little samey as you progress. The graphics also has a sort of look that makes it look a little unpolished to me and weak to me.
