EDIT: After a good few hours on this game, and several updates. Along with positive movement in the multi-player. I feel confident this game will continue to kick ass and take names. The team seems very receptive to feedback. The few minor bugs I have encountered, altho I should have reported, I am lazy american. LOL So instead I ingnore them. And love the game for what it is, a solid TD. EDIT2: After the first half dozen levels, the maps get LOTS better. EDIT3: Game keeps getting better and better. from balance to gameplay options. This game is heading in a very positive direction. I am torn, altho the level design is uninspired the gameplay is pretty decent. At first the mechanic of "powering" your towers was off putting. As I played a couple rounds, it grew on me and became part of the challange. This TD game has a lot of potential. The devs have mentioned multi-player as well, in the not so distant future. That was the selling point for me. If you have not been jaded by previo...

About the game
The game was planned as an old-school tower defense game (like Blizzard's tower-defense map in Frozen Throne), but with a twist.
We wanted the game to have an immersive story and the first half of it to be a circle-tower-defense-game, meaning that the monsters will not vanish in a portal of some sort, but stay on the screen until you have destroyed them, or there are 100 of them on the screen (in which case you have lost).
But other than that, no bells and whistles, just basic action, but neatly balanced, good controls and not too easy.
The games controls are RTS-like (that means, that you control a hero, who will do most of the work in-game) and the second half of the levels will change the gameplay to a standard tower-defense game.

Why is this TD-game great? It a complex true TD-game that won't just be nice with you and let you win, you need to use your brain, with MP support. The pricetag isn't high at all concidering what you're getting for the money. Game itself is stable and has no issues what so ever. I'm truely so amazed by the Devs. If you find any error or what so ever or have any question, they'll answer at once and deploy a patch ASAP if there's a bug. I've never exprienced something like this. It's not mods, it's the developers! They even develop the game further at the request of the public!!! I'm used to the opposite where they blame their bugs on everything else but the game and the nobody cares to answer or your post ends up deleted due to a review on how they're just running away with the money. The game is pretty stable for EA, there aren't any bugs or anything that's making it crash, Negative? You haven't bought the game!
This is the most frustrating game I'll ever recommend. Gameplay is difficult, made more so by the amount of stuff that you need to know which the tutorials don't address. The single player campaign requires tremendous amounts of grinding, because your overall strength is limited by how much cash you make, and that's limited by what levels you can play on in what difficulties, so there's a fairly linear grind that has you replaying these same, circular little levels that do nothing and go nowhere (the singleplayer experience of this game), as you try desperately to keep the number of creeps below 100 (the unstated lose condition for the game, though you figure it out quick; there's also a nice visual effect that makes it clear you're boned as the creep number climbs up). But it's a lot of fun. Seriously, give it a try. Funstrating. There are deep mechanics to this simple looking game. It's compelling to try to get further. Levels are unforgiving, even brutal, as a lot of the difficulty...
A nice little game that actually evolves as you play it. It starts out as a Tower Defense game, where you have to stop the bad guys from becoming 100 on the map at the same time, which plays somewhat differently than ie. Bloons TD or Gemcraft. For those who like that style better…good news: after 25 levels it changes to the good old „prevent 100 bad guys from reaching the finish line“. As you play you upgrade your towers, BUT those upgrades are somewhat limited by the levels you have finshed. So even if you have bought all available upgrades right now, there are more around the corner. Part of the upgradeable stuff is an alien who builds the towers and also is used as mobile tower itself later in the game (for the first 10 or so levels you might be wondering, why they put that guy into the game because he´s pretty useless…). As you play through the game he will become your main line of defense once he´s upgraded to a certain level. 2 things that stand out: Energy Man...
Seemed cool at first. Until you realize you need to lose over and over and over to earn money in order to win. Graphics are certainly not from the 2015 era, more like 1995. Almost hurts your eyes just to play, if you can get past the hurting your mind part. 1.3 hours on record, and that's all I could take.
Playtime is a bit inflated (accidently deleted my savefile - more than once. left game running, etc). But I'd say you need at least 30 hours to clear 100% achievements. (And I still have the multiplayer ones to go.) I have almost only bad things to say about this game, but it's a pretty easy recommend anyway because the progression keeps you going and it's seldom dull and the content will last you quite a white. I especially like the fast send next-waves and the 5x game speed in this game. It's a round-and-round-they-go kind of TD (I've only seen this in wc3, but wc3 still looks better and of course performs better with many units.) Goal is to leep monster count below 100. There is also a more standard mode that unlocks later.
The really bad stuff:

During my first playthrough I must have had up towards 50 crashes. After my deleted save file I saw only one or two. Maybe just my playstyle changed to avoid crashy towers and I'm almost ready to dismiss it as "just my...
Great TD and very cheap! Little buggy in MP, but the developer need feedback on bugs. They wrote and fixed bugs the same day I post them, so they are alive! *cheers* Report bugs here : http://steamcommunity.com/app/341570/discussions/0/496880503067139198/ Its like Circle TD in WC3 Good balanced!
I love playing tower defense games. Ever since people started introducing Warcraft 3 tower defense mods (Wintermaul, Green, Burbenog), I have been hooked on them. That being said, nothing will ever top Burbenog (for those of you who know what I'm talking about). Pros of Throbax TD: -cheap -tutorial teaches you the game -can play multiplayer online (haven't tried it, yet) -devs respond to feedback -the levels I have encountered so far haven't lasted more than about 7 minutes -you can hit a button to speed it up 2x, 3x, 4x, and 5x to make the levels quicker -the concept of having to power your towers instead of just building a tower wherever you want is interesting and different Cons of Throbax TD: -graphics are a little dated (but hey, it was $3) -you can't just upgrade any tower to any level in-game. You earn points for completing levels which you use to buy upgrades for your buildings in the upgrade interface. For those of you used to Wintermaul, Green, and other TDs in which you ...
Great game, big potential. Very different from other TD games. -Pros It has multiplayer Upgradable towers Hero with abillities -Cons Multiplayer doesnt work so good yet Not a con but would like to see more towers
Looked like an interesting TD game, but I could not get it to work right. It kept flaking out for me, keyboard controls and mouse would flake out. I started setting the graphics, audio, and game options, and it would get flaky, up/down through menus was sporadic, and the mouse sporadic. I rebooted a couple times and it would work for a few minutes before flaking out again. I have a new computer, high end gaming PC, lots of memory, high end cpu, updated drivers... the entire system is made of common components, and name brands. I know there could be a simple fix, but unfortunately I don't have time to troubleshoot possible conflicts. I think it has potential, may work well for many people, and the price is right. I will wait a while and perhaps try it again after some updates.
