I love psychedelia, either in music, art or playing psychedelic looking games, unfortunately I was quite disappointed in TRIP: Steam Edition after experiencing it for nearly 10 hours in bite-sized chunks over the last 24 hours since I purchased it; that is, at least in its present state. As it is early access I may change my opinion as time progresses, but that will depnd on what the developer does for the game. It says the artware is an open world environment; for me that conjures up the thought that you are able to explore every part of the world you find yourself in. Sadly I found there were many places I wasn't able to explore, for example trying to get from many places via hills, you aren't able to climb anything steeper than about 45 degrees, this basically locks off loads of area of the world so far created. I tried for hours to find ways to access certain area's, but was always held back by the inability to climb anything too steep. The actual...

I played a non-Steam version of this game for an hour and then decided it wasn't just that I was experiencing this Trip for free. [Insert Drug Dealer Joke] The game is a walking simulator. The pull is the world. The gamer-oriented object (thus far) is to collect sprites. I qualify that last point thusly because the dev has expressed that the intent IS more of an [footnote] interactive art installation [end footnote], rather than a trippy "game," per se. I have heard, however, that the dev is seriously considering tweaking the vision into a form more akin to "game" - what I've heard suggested that it might become something like Pokemon Snap. Research and observe the structures and creatures; use a camera and take notes. There is currently no music. There are too many invisible walls. The lack of a sprint is to the players' advantage (more time to explore); however, I think different means of locomotion might add to the experience. Crawl, slither, fly - whatever. Just give us some...
Solid visuals but NO SOUNDTRACK a game like this NEEDS a soundtrack. But It seems fine if you're willing to find your own music for it. Soundtrack is Promised, this should be in Early acess.
A highly underrated experience. The atmosphere is absolutely incredible and it makes for a thought provoking late night experience. If you are looking for music to pair with the game try any of the following albums: Zaba - Glass Animals, Lonerism - Tame Impala, Liminal - The Acid, Nothing Lasts... But Nothing Is Lost - Shpongle, Entheogenic - Entheogenic. Any of these should transform an already wonderful experience into something even better
First off, let me say that I have been a very long time fan of this game, ever since I first saw it previewed on RockLeeSmile's Indie Impressions YEARS ago. It makes me endlessly happy to have found it here on Steam, getting the exposure it deserves. Secondly, you either get TriP, or you don't. It's about as much of a game as Proteus is - just a pretty walking simulator, but unlike Proteus it has an art style I truly relish. As you can see from the screenshots, it is heavily inspired by two of the greatest art games of all time: LSD Dream Emulator and Yume Nikki. As a long time fan of both, I naturally was going to love TriP. If walking around looking at expressions of the subconscious mind isn't your cup of tea, give it a pass. If, however, you're like me and want to explore every inch of how deep the rabbit hole can go, absolutely buy TriP.
Video Gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQ8FhYED9DY Something Different, Nice exploration. It just needs some background music soon. (Video Clip has Music added)
[spoiler]Wait... Last time I remember I bought this game under $1 and now the price become like this? lol[/spoiler] This game is... Stunning. It is an art of surrealism and lots of random stuffs going on inside. You just like, explore and walk around, seeing weird things and yet, aesthetic. Pretty much no purpose or any kind of things to do in game. Probably there are something to do but I still can't figure out what to do, because I see 'Collection' in the pause menu of the game. If you are an art lover and admirer, you should definitely get this game. (If you willing to pay that amount of price though) ***UPDATE April 13, 2019*** Okay so they lowered the price on March 25, 2019 https://steamdb.info/app/341540/ I have no idea why they raised the price at first place.
There's a reason you only see screenshots of the first "world" in this game; it's the only one that's remotely interesting. Had the subsequent worlds built upon the experience of the first world in any way, with its varied sights and large worldspace (at least compared to the others), it would be worth playing, but as it is, I'd give this one a pass. There are better abstract walking simulators out there.
wow, riche, fort, moving, intrigant, mesmerizing and so on, so on ........... exellent
When your tripping very hard this is the game for you if your not then just dont touch it.
