About This Game
Ethel Briggs is a shy, self-conscious girl in her final year of university. Though she should be working on her thesis about Romantic poetry, her well of inspiration has run dry. After a nasty break-up with her former girlfriend, Clementine, Ethel is feeling very blue — and it certainly doesn't help that she's spending the winter holidays in the depressingly drab village of Oxbury, while her family are off holidaying in sunny Australia.
Left to her own devices, Ethel struggles to finish her thesis while the cold, wintry wind blows outside and the days continue to get shorter and darker.
Staying inside proves to be unbearable, however, and Ethel escapes the confines of her family's home for a breath of fresh air. Going for a walk in the woods should be enough to invigorate her, and fill her with newfound passion for Romanticism.
That was Ethel's plan, at least — but she wasn't counting on meeting a mysterious, dark-haired beauty in the woods, who is much more than she seems.

Good game if you like reading without thinking. I cannot think of a game I've played with a more painful beginning, and although it gets better, the writing never got to a point where it justified spending as much time with the game that is required (and this is a short game). I've played It Gets So Lonely here and the story was just as vapid, but at least the prose was solid enough to be entertaining. I had no fun with Her Love, Like Poison at all. The art could be really fucking cool, and it can also actually just be an obviously incomplete cg. The ideas proposed could have been great if the execution wasn't piss poor. I came into this with the expectation of a shallow game whose only redeeming qualities are that it's pretty to read and look at, and yet even with those pathetically low standards walked away disappointed. Ebi-hime can write a lot, but it's simultaneously painfully amateurish and pretentious. You're beaten over the head with useless details that fail to even bu...
Poor Ethel, The music was haunting and very memorable, it makes me feel something akin to anxiety or something. I dont like it but i like it in a weird way. The story is a lil slow at the start I find but that just may be me not used to their writing style. It's very descriptive, and I find that we stay in Ethel's head for alot of the journey. Makes sense because she is very anti-social. The body horror made me a lil sick and the depressive tones had me drained at the end, but that just be my fault cause I am reading this late at night. I don't read VN's too much but I will definitly be reading more of their work, hopefully I'll find a more cheerful one.
Makes me want to be a girl
need the girl to fill me with toxic spores irl absolutely wonderful game :3c
A wonderful story about at girl and a fungal creature, Gets plural coded and I think it's a happy ending! The art is wonderful and it get spooky!
While it's a rather slow story, I did like it. At certain points it really feels like it tries to over explain situations that don't really matter or give the same context already given within 30 minutes ago with the intent of extending the story. The story itself was good though, the art was amazing and generally was a good experience.
Extremely cute and pretty story, but as a plural system while reading this we kinda missed a lot of horror aspect of it, but this game as all ebi hime yuri games are very beautiful and lovely story, highly recommend
I'm sad now
