About This Game

Step into Dungeonfell – a single-player tactical, turn-based, Roguelite – where you command a group of Delvers in their quest to save Dungeonfell. Battle through the Dungeon, taking on waves of Monsters, and collecting valuable treasure to upgrade your Delvers.

The Prophecy of the Dark Star is coming to pass… The lands of Dungeonfell are being consumed by the corruption, tainting the Dungeon and twisting the Monsters inside. The Great Wizard Balthazar calls any willing Delvers to help in his quest to find the fabled Keystones, kept by the Dungeon’s guardians, and said to hold the secret to stopping the spreading corruption.

Learn the unique abilities of each Delver, unlock new spells, and gather Relics to make your Delvers even stronger. Combine your Delvers strategically to create powerful synergies and overcome the dangers of the Dungeon’s depths.

Gameplay

• Uncover the truth of the Ancient Sage’s prophecy.

• Assemble your team from a roster of unique Delvers.

• Fight through each layer of the Dungeon, taking on monsters in tactical battles.

• Choose your route through, focusing on different difficulties and rewards.

• Spend hard earned Gold to unlock new Delvers and progress through their skill tree.

• Post your top scores on global leaderboards

Dungeonfell has endless replayability. Each run is different, and knowledge is key if you want to master the ever-evolving tactical depth. Battle for glory as you work to cleanse the corruption at the heart of the dungeons.

It just feels.... boring? Like the upgrades barely matter, the heroes are priced like its a mobile game, and don't offer much change, the difficulty feels ok, I just couldn't find an ounce of anything that made my time feel well invested. It takes forever to unlock such meaningless upgrades, and the payoff is you play on a slightly harder difficulty? It just seems so painfully boring having beaten three runs, that I can't play anymore. So no I don't recommend it.

This game is clearly not for me and it is most likely not for anyone who enjoys casual turn-based combat. This is a roguelike game with an involved learning curve and a difficulty level that is too high in my opinion. The cutesy graphics make it seem like this could be a somewhat casual and forgiving experience. However, that is not the case at all. I attempted three runs and they all turned out the same where I was quickly wiped out in only a few stages. One issue is that once you lose a character, you don't get that character back in the next round. They are gone for you to face the next enemies alone. And of course you won't survive long with only one character. There is also no voice acting or controller support and the game looks and plays like a mobile port. If you enjoy roguelike games where you repeat the same sections over and over again, then you might like this game. I do not so this game is not for me.

Overall I enjoy Dungeonfell. It's much better than I expected from first impressions. It's snappy with good battle mechanics and plenty of progressionl Right now, I have two main concerns with the game that have had me waiting for future development before diving back in: - In-run progression is nice, but I never have that feeling like I've made a busted build. They're all pretty incremental or yuck-yum style boons that more shift how I make decisions in a turn but not in a way that make me feel like I've created something that synergizes well. - Meta progression takes forever. 6 hours in and I haven't even maxed out one of the three starting characters, let alone unlocking anyone else.

Fun game. Accessible and addictive. Simple enough to pick up and play without thinking too much yet challenging enough to keep you engaged and coming back for more. Something for gamers of all levels
