About This Game

Project Green Beat is a truly unique music-based rail shooter. The core of the game is the music, which is the inspiration for the visuals and the entire flow of each custom crafted level. This is really what makes this game different. It goes beyond just tying events to a beat - the visuals are designed to move with the ebb and flow of the songs as they follow on their journey to the crescendo. The ultimate goal is a fully immersive experience.

While the music is the hook, there are two features which give this game its endurance: it’s unique score system and the online play.

Project Green Beat focuses on rewarding player creativity by allowing numerous ways to play, allowing the player to experiment while their skill progresses. Bonuses are given for numerous skills including hitting targets on a ricochet, hits with proximity mines, and for shooting on-beat. Bonuses stack, so players naturally gravitate to more difficult and rewarding maneuvers. As your skill improves you will learn how to combine your left and right click weapons to place and redirect shots in ways to maximize your score through each unique section of the game. A skilled player can find ways to extend streaks, unlock secrets, and score literally thousands of times higher than a beginner.

A free drop in online mode supports global challenges where players compete concurrently in levels with custom rules, forcing players to adjust their gameplay strategies to vie for online fame. In these challenges, players can risk their fame, betting it for even greater rewards.

Project Green Beat takes inspiration from the demoscene and features some of the best techno mod music from an earlier era.

EDIT: Detailed bonus mechanic guide at the bottom of this review. (Thank you SeattleEgg) I just picked it up today, but I can definitely say that the immersion is there. I went into my own little world pretty quickly and started to bounce with the beat as I tried to pull off perfect sections. There are lots of bonuses available for trick shots, recochets, accuracy etc. Additionally, right mouse button will charge objects providing a charge bonus when you shoot them. I can see that there's more for me to learn about getting higher scores, but after half an hour it felt like my mouse hand was going to fall off from all the button mashing. One concern I do have is that the cursor seems to feel a little laggy at times. I'm not sure if it's meant to be lofting shots (ie balistic arc) or if it's a bug, but it can be a little confusing at times. Pros: Nice to look at Immersive Several different levels Complex bonus points system Cons: Probably not for anyone that doesn't like electronica/...

This game is very interesting, i like playstyle and graphics, its like rhythm shooting, you shoot random creatures which pop up also it has mysterious stories ^^ but one sad thing is you cant play custom music tracks :C but i realy recommend this if you like rhythm shooting games. Just play the game and enjoy music! ^^

While the game may not be AMAZING, I can say that this is a fun rythym game when you're in a casual mood. Only few flaws is that it's not a great long term kind of game, there's some bad screen tearing, and the rating system can be unfair. Get it on a sale if you can.

Keeping this short and sweet. My pc can (in theory ) handle this game no problems, so why then is it so laggy ?. This is clearly a game where reflexes are in need and unfortunately all the good reflexes in the world wont save you from the epic lag in this game, to the point where i couldnt stomach trying any longer. I tried changing OS down to xp etc, altering the resolution ( as there are no actual graphics options but still the crosshair lags behind by around 1/2 to 1 second making the game feel unresponsive and a let down. I can see the promise in this game but until the game is sorted out i would stay well clear, if you are after a similar game that acutally plays as it should try intake. Intake will show you how this game should play. I will check for updates occasionally and if it is sorted i will definitely change my review as the game has promise.

I'd have to say, my initial playthrough was similarly ruined by a drop of framerate another customer was mentioning. As soon as I opened the game, the lag intantly hit. My cursor had atleast a fourth of a second delay on the basic 720p settings, and you don't even want to hear how bad it is as the resolution was raised. It was sad to force myself into going to the lowest possible setting to actually have on-command instantaneous response because in this game, aiming is a vital utility to have. I have the requirements (surpass them quite a bit actually). It would be nice if this was fixed, because a laggy game is not worth 5 dollars (which is the only reason I'm giving this a negative). I've played Unity engine games before, and that seems to be a recurring problem with the program. Maybe something in the script could be affecting the framerate. Now, on the other hand, the story and setup of the game are enticing and neat. The music is something that many people can "rave" to, and the e...

If you want to be better at FPS this is a training program for aiming. I have been playing global defense network relentlessly for years. Fantastic game, worth every penny, a really intense way to train.

First off, the game crashed on launch on Windows 10 so make sure you run it as admin. Once you get it running, you get thrown into a "menu" of floating orbs that flow around with no tutorial or instruction. Then once you get into a "track" you just shoot the things that stand out from the backgrounds. Be it a cube that is just sitting there being a cube, to balls of light, to flying crystals, etc. that are all supposedly set to the music but feels more like a pretty random visualizer to go along with a decent soundtrack. The shooting isn't satisfying as the gun has a pretty slow bullet speed and the ranom bonuses with no explanation don't help things. Add to that one of the signature touted features (multiplayer) seems to be broken and you end up with a dead, poorly executed, yet pretty game. Save your money and get something from the Bit.Trip series if you want a good music game.
