This is a lovingly crafted game, the aesthetic and graphics are excellent, the music is awesome, and the references to electronics and music clearly shows an expertise in those subjects. But the gameplay is just .. not good. It's grindy, uninteresting, lots of backtracking. The core gameplay of shooting enemies is just not satisfying, and having to wait for overheated modules to cool down is not interesting. The story is bad and kinda incoherent, and dialogue feels like filler from the get-go. And so much tell-don't-show to handhold the player. It does not feel like a modern indie game that has learned from progress in the industry. Twin Stick Shooter is not a favorable tag for this game, do *not* in any way expect it to be like Enter the Gungeon or Nuclear Throne. Expect a collect-a-thon where you meet quirky NPC's and clearing the same area 5 times over to grind for parts / because you need to navigate back and forth. But if you're not deep down the rabbit hole of indie games, and ...

An excellent game, but maybe not for everyone. I found out about this game on launch day, and being a fan of LMNC and his style of music, I was more than happy to buy and play it. I enjoyed it enough to fully perfect the game on 125% difficulty, but I can't say that it's entirely flawless. The sound design of the entire game was great (even just the dialogue sounds were pleasant to me haha), and at the end of each play session I would go to the synthesizer in the museum just to mess around with the different modules. The dynamic soundtrack concept kept me more engaged with the game as I played, but I have to agree with other reviews that some of the sounds can start to feel grating (the flame organ module lmao) and especially early in the game when your power level is low and the sounds aren't as complex. I found the gameplay satisfying and especially once you get far enough in that you're choosing where and when to use different combinations of modules. I could never fully rely on ...
Just started playing on my ally running bazzite. The game design is excellent. The music / synthesis elements are surprisingly in depth and really good. I am going to enjoy this one. Seems easy to pick up and grasp.
This game is a twinstick shooter where you use a modular synthesizer to modify your gun. Of course its fun and the gameplay loop is very addictive. The game feels very arcade-y and i mean that in the best way possible. There is plenty here for anyone that likes LMNC, but plenty for anyone that like this style of action game. Soundtrack slaps.
A wonderfull wacky fastpaced shooter that will keep you entertained, coupled with the ability to live mix the soundtrack as you go. This is great
Its a fun game, the music at the start can be a bit much. However, once you get further into the game and unlock more sounds it improves alot. Super fun concept and overall a great game!
As a synth loving lad who works at a electronics repair shop I feel like this game was made for me.
Awesome vibe! Get down with the music on this one!
I grabbed this as soon as I saw the trailer and am having a blast with it. Love the interactive soundtracks and I'm compelled to find all the components I need to upgrade my modules. All I could have hoped for if I heard that Sam was collabbing with retro minded folks on a video game.
This game is good, clean fun. It feels very old-school (though not quite as analog as Sam's synthesizers) and has a pretty fun difficulty curve. The plots aren't going to win any awards, but the writing is snappy and witty. The sort of signature feature of the game is the fact that the soundtrack changes based on which synthesizer modules you're currently using, and that's really neat! It does mean, however, that I sometimes have to turn the volume way down, because some of the modules... I don't like how they sound. All of which is to say, it's a great game, I love it, and it's weird and quirky.
