About This Game

Welcome to Plastic Battlegrounds, the newly commissioned sandbox toy-based battle simulator that includes objective based modes, where your plastic soldiers engage in intense set piece battles. Set up the battlefield with an ever growing list of units, vehicles, emplacements, and environment hazards then either join the battle as a plastic soldier or be life sized and tower over the chaos. Drive fast moving toy jeeps or pilot drones armed with explosives and machine guns. Blow up toy brick fortifications and tear apart your virtual living space in ways you absolutely cannot do in real life!

In sandbox mode, setup battles by placing units, setting up spawners, and make combat scenarios unique to each play session. It's what you could previously only imagine toy soldiers doing, but now they are truly brought into action! Try the experimental Conquest mode where you are tasked with holding the majority of capture points to achieve victory over the enemy team.

This game is very early in development, there is much to be done and the toy war has only begun. Join our Discord community linked in our website to keep up with development news - see you on the battlefield, soldier!

While I appreciate this is early access, it is legitimately a great game, and I had a lot of fun messing around with it. There are a few things I noticed, however. 1. The bazooka has weird collision detection. Half the time the rockets hit thin air and explode for no reason, which makes shooting it at long-range pretty well impossible. 2. The artillery, B17 and F4 summoning items can summon unlimited hordes of artillery shells and aircraft. While it's hilarious to have the ability to re-enact Dresden in game, it is definitely NOT balanced to be able to summon hordes upon hordes of aircraft to make huge parts of the map uninhabitable and is really bad for performance, as the explosions, AI, physics and everything REALLY don't like when you do that. I would recommend setting these things such that they can only summon one plane or artillery strike at a time, and possibly introduce a cooldown. Also, aircraft/artillery summoned by radiomen should also have more of a cooldown. That w...

This game is amazing. Unlike other sandbox games like Boneworks, this game really shines in how BIG you can use the sandbox. I have already spend a ton of time in the Flatlands creating some epic battles! While there is no progression, (not yet) It is fun to explore and unlock weapons on the wide variety of maps. The Toy Soldier setting makes the game feel fun and not serious. Its also really refreshing to see a VR game with devs that care for there game. Although the game has some problems: The game can feel really buggy sometimes and I have gotten my hand stuck in a wall at least 2 times. 8.5/10

I love this game but the optimisation is terrible. I have a 5090 32gb and a Ryzen 9 9950X3d, so one of the best PCs money can be, and a Meta Quest 3 - but if there is more than 20 AI on the battlefield then I get 5-10 FPS which is just unplayable. I really like the concept, and its got so much potential, but they need to make it playable. Also, I have bought this game twice. I bought it on my Meta Quest 3 (standalone) and the FPS was so bad. I then saw they were bringing it to Steam, so I was hoping when the game was ran through my PC and streamed to my Quest 3 I would be able to actually play it - but then I had the exact same problem, terrible FPS and stuttering. I would love to know how they get the good FPS on the videos/trailers I've seen the Devs release.
