A WORLD IN CONFLICT

It was supposed to be the night that everything changed.

Something to hope for.

But in a heartbeat, everything fell apart.

A violent meteor storm rained down from the heavens, crushing everything below.

Louisa’s soul was taken.

Kaser changed.

With a mysterious new ally at his side, Kaser sets out on a mission to bring his sister back from beyond, realizing the meteor shower was no natural phenomenon.

It was the arrival of the Voidrax, dimensional invaders on a conquest to destroy other species and drain the energy from their souls.

With his new abilities, Kaser must travel across worlds and dimensions to face terrifying enemies head-on to save his sister, and humanity.

And so this hero’s journey begins…

I’ve completed the prologue of Lost Soul Aside, and in its current state I can’t recommend this game. Major Issues I’ve run into so far: Performance: The framerate is wildly inconsistent. From the very first cinematic to gameplay, I haven’t had 10 straight seconds above 30 FPS. In 2025, this is unacceptable. Movement/Traversal: Running feels awful. With each step, the entire environment lurches forward, creating a constant “lunging” effect. It’s disorienting, disengaging, and honestly the worst running mechanic I’ve ever experienced in a game. Invisible Walls Everywhere: Exploration feels heavily restricted. I constantly ran into invisible walls or was forcibly turned around when trying to walk down what looked like open paths. It got to the point where I was bumping into these barriers by accident more often than I felt like I was heading the right way. Default Camera Angle: The camera is zoomed in so tightly during exploration that it feels like you’re aiming d...

Turn off ray tracing and put it in Japanese voices the English voice acting is horrendous and it becomes a much better experience, the combat doesn't open up until after the prologue so yes you need to play more then 45 mins, the skill tree is expansive and there's a bunch of different powers, I had some stuttering in the prologue cut-scenes but once I got out it's been running smooth the story is interesting, but one thing that bothers me is how snapshot the cut scenes to game play are, otherwise it's not bad at all and i'll keep playing.

Yang Bing went from a one-man developer to a thriving studio. He didn't just make a game, he built a whole team. I remember when he used to reply to every message on their page, and now he's leading a full production. That level of grind is rare. Huge respect to everyone who helped. Unfortunately, Sony's approach to this launch has been disappointing. Withholding review copies until a massive day-one patch feels like damage control, not confidence. At least they’re offering a demo, which will help massively given the lack of reviews.

Raytracing is a non-option. It runs so poorly with it on, so just keep it off. With RT off, I am having great performance. The combat is incredibly flashy and feels great. I'm super excited to play more. Also, if you don't mind reading subtitles, the Chinese and Japanese voice-overs are miles better than the English dialogue. I get it... we all want to play games with all of the bells and whistles on, but just turn RT off folks. Once I stopped caring about raytracing in games and just turned the setting off, my enjoyment of PC gaming went up exponentially.

I have an hour of game play, and I only stopped playing because the game crashed on me. Firstly I want to make the obligatory "steam needs a mixed option" comment. I've unlocked Arena and have for the most part gotten a feel of Kaser's movement and the general direction the game will take. Let's start with the easiest thing to criticize here, the dialogue sucks real bad, even when switching to a different language (in my case Japanese) you can hear the awkward spacing between each line. My take on this issue however is, I don't care. I've been following this game's development since I was 11 years old, and now I'm 20. Never once in those 9 years did I care about the story of this game, I always knew what would appeal to me the most was its combat. I don't however, want to talk about the combat yet, only because I assume most people know the attraction to a hack and slash is never its story, but rather how it plays. I'm someone who likes to save the most important bit for last so ins...

Currently i can't even manage to walk around town without feeling sick. If you can't even have a steady stable run/walk in a non combat zone, i hate to see how things play for the rest of the game. IRL: you know where you're running or walking but give every other step more power to push forward? moving slightly faster for just 1 step, and then slowing down, then doing it again over and over. yea...

i don't like leaving early reviews cuz it's hard to have an informed opinion before finishing an entire run in my opinion. But once again people like to review bomb over the tiniest details and cry over stupid details when a game isn't deserving of said review bombing so here to fight the good fight. Same thing happened with Wuchang where people are bitching about technical issues left and right, for context I have a 4070 and a pretty basic PC, and I haven't gotten any issues on this game and I didn't get anything wrong on Wuchang either. Unless i'm somehow just really fucking lucky people are poorly optimizing their settings, I got everything on cinematic and ray tracing off and im constantly over 140 frames, had some issues here and there in the beginning area but nothing major that's gonna ruin my enjoyment of the game. Story so far is fine, is it anything groundbreaking? No, it's a bit fast paced for my liking but story is the last thing I can comment on given im not even 5 h...

I've been waiting for this game since 2016 and the only thing I've encountered is pure disappointment. The saddest part is that the game seemed to be a better and more promising game in 2016. It never feels like a hack and slash game. The hit feel is non-existent like you're swinging a wooden sword at lifeless mannequins. You feel like it's a gatcha game. You never feel anything when the characters are sad or happy because even their faces don't move, it's extremely soulless and unrealistic. I played it for about half an hour and all I did was break blue windows, talk to NPCs and fight toy soldiers with a toy sword. You also see that they took a lot of things from many games and copied them. (For example, they took Midgar as is and put it into the game and also the red barrier mechanics and vein disintegration from Devil May Cry etc. etc.) Never, ever buy it at its original price even if it's on sale, I mean maybe if it was 15-20 dollars, it might be worth it. A 9-year fiasco, a disgra...

As others have said, for the price, it’s not worth it. I didn’t have any optimization issues with the game, but it really just isn’t for me. I was excited for this game because I found the design and combat shown in the trailers interesting. When playing, I found the combat quite weak, and since it’s a Double A game, it didn’t have much to focus on beyond the main premise, which is a hack and slash combat game. Well, if I didn’t even enjoy the main part, I don’t need to say that the rest is worse for me. I hope other people have different opinions and can enjoy the game a lot regardless of the criticism it receives…

My PC Spec: Processor: Ryzen 7 9800x3d GPU: Radeon Rx 9070xt Ram: 32gb SSD: Samsung SSD 9100 pro After turning off ray tracing, the game runs a lot smoother. But during battles, like when using Arena’s power or after smashing a crystal and going into a short cutscene, it still stutters a bit, kind of like frame drops. I think this part still needs some optimization.
