About the Game

You’ve risen through society after dealing with Eltane and saving the city, capturing the affections of the Duke’s daughter along the way. The mysterious death of a friend arouses your suspicions and once again you find yourself at the heart of conspiracy that takes you back to your home village and a meeting with your old adventuring party from your youth.

Curse of the Assassin is a gamebook where you control the story by deciding what action to take at key points. Use dice to determine your vitality, fitness and luck, then battle solo and with companions as you take on enemies within Orlandes... both familiar and new.

Featuring full colour artwork by Pirkka Harvala and a soundtrack by Adrian Watkins, this mystery adventure thriller races from Orlandes City through to the wilds of Orlandes, into the mines of Kern Badenach and even out to sea!

A superb entry in the Gamebook Adventure series. The story is interesting and varied and the world of Orlandes makes for a colourful setting. This game simply knocks the spots off the other entries in this series, with a longer and far more detailed narrative and also a much more emotional plot. You investigate the death of an old friend and uncover an evil plot. You search out your other old friends and you can take any one of them along as a travelling companion to help defeat the evil plot.
(and save your parents)
The dice-roll combat system can seem a bit harsh at times, but overall the game is really well designed and nicely set-out on the screen. The game has three difficulty settings and it is long enough and challenging enough to provide a good amount of replay value. Also, each travelling companion gives the game a noticeably different slant. There are some excellent colour artworks to collect, as well as a set of 32 achievements to complete. Steam trading c...

This was a fantastic follow up to "An Assassin in Orlandes". The story is very interesting with multiple different routes and outcomes. If you liked the first one, then you should defnitely pick this up.
The sequel to the first Gamebook Adventure
This book is a sequel to the good first Gamebook Adventure story, An Assassin in Orlandes and while the first was a very simple and a straight forward book, this one is huge. If you know about Fighting Fantasy books, this is almost the same type, "go left, turn to paragraph 120 / go up, turn to 332 / search the bodies, go to 24", just the fighting is different, more dice you have the more damage/blocking you can do. Compared to the other 2 gamebooks available, I felt this one buggier, sometimes I end up with only one dice for fighting (instead of the amount I should have thanks to my weapon) which was fixed only by quitting/restarting the app. The story is good, intriguing even but the paragraphs are crazy long. I felt like I read War and Peace over and over at the end of the run. Unlike other gamebooks, there's not much dungeon crawling and it's more like exploring. It's not too hard (except the battles) and there's actually man...

A great non-linear story-sequel to the Assassin in Orlandes. It's hard to believe but just text + some pictures can make you feel worried for your character and his survival. Especially with only so many save bookmarks

This is a fun, replayable gamebook. There are three major paths through the game, combat is challenging but fair, and there is a lot to learn. If you want your children to read more, buy then this game.
