The gameplay is unique and addictive. It's sort of a god game sandbox with distinct puzzle solving levels. Every couple years I'll go back to play though this again and I'm always left wanting more. To get this running: 1) Click "Play" and accept all the admin prompts as Steam installs some out of date and broken Ubisoft crapware. It will eventually give a technical error trying to run the game since this version of Ubisoft Connect is broken. 2) Download the latest Ubisoft Connect installer and run it, then log into Ubisoft Connect. 3) I didn't have to do this step since the game was already in my Ubisoft Connect library, but you may need to activate the game in Ubisoft Connect using the key from Steam. You do NOT need to install the game again from the Ubisoft Connect interface, just make sure it shows up as owned in the Ubisoft crapware. 4) The game should now run from steam as normal. This worked for me on Windows 11 with an Intel 13900KS and an RTX 3080, so...

God game like Populous. Game's not bad, jut the DRM and amount of work it take to get the game up and running. Better off playing something else, as this game is limited in content. Ubisoft connect required, 7-10 hours long.
I expected something like the classic Black & White. The game is nothing like that
Environment control "god game" where you master the elements to help your tribe survive. Has an authentic aboriginal feel.
I was able to skirt the abhorrent third-party client spyware garbage following a simple tutorial I found in the forums here on steam. For now. And I'm on linux, too. Its a good game so far. No controller support even though there was a 360 release, but that's how it is I guess.
Ubisoft, UBESOFT you lock all the games to your malware platform and scam billions of humans across existence and other realities even in death.
Forced to connect to ubisoft connect and then it says there is an error half the time. When it does launch the game is full screen but the menu is off screen on my ultrawide monitor. I had to lookup how to change the resolution with just the keyboard. Gameplay is just okay. The physics are a little wonky and the pace is slow.
