About This Game

Attention this is a very good game, but it is not always easy, requires a strategic sense and a vein of discovery! We are committed to keep making it better and better! In the coming months, you can expect additional content expansions.

Take control of an armored scout in a post-apocalyptic side-scrolling game with real-time strategy and pixel art graphics! Your decisions can help ensure that humanity's hope is not lost.

"The Last Experiment" is a base-defense strategy game. Your base starts as a small shelter, and your mission is to conquer a devastated, monster-infested Earth set in the year 2805. You’ll attempt this by planting radiation-resistant crops while deploying unique combinations of passive-defense tools—designed by the player—to fend off the encroaching "Fleshvine." Your goal is to prevent it from breaching your territory, killing your creatures, and infiltrating the remnants of humanity at your base.

To achieve victory, you’ll likely have to endure numerous failed runs before building the arsenal of tools and creatures capable of withstanding every assault on your base. Early on, you’ll battle smaller packs of enemies, but by the end, you’ll face the diverse and challenging units of the "Fleshvine." If our hero, Redveil, dies or loses the Moldbreaker armor, all is not lost. Death is merely temporary—Redveil will rise again and again to continue the mission of constructing the radio tower.

"The Last Experiment" is not a traditional strategy game. As Redveil, you’ll dash around to assign valuable functions to your helpful robots (if you have any). You’ll craft and combine unique tools, build them underground in the safety of Echo Station, and then take them to the surface. You'll research and discover new creatures, figuring out how to use them in the most efficient way possible.

And there’s a lot to do: constructing light-based defensive tools, repairing long-lost technologies, researching creatures for better defenses and faster progress during a run, sending expeditions to the surface, attacking "Fleshvine" outposts to secure new lands for farms and devices, gathering supplies from crates, and uncovering small messages from the past to learn what happened to the world.

BREED, DISCOVER, BUILD… and while you’re at it, SAVE HUMANITY!

The game is beautiful, the music is good, the gameplay is challenging enough. Lots more content updates to come, apparently. Every 1-2 weeks, there some pretty substantial updates. For how few comments there are and how underground the game is the community and creators seem pretty helpful based on the community center. All in all it's a great experience, I wonder what it will grow into, it's definitely worth coming back for another run every month. Even if you've already finished it, there's bound to be a lot of new stuff in there.

A stunning post-apocalyptic strategy game that engages players with challenging gameplay and detailed pixel art graphics. With continuous improvements and updates coming to the game, it seems the developers are actively listening to the community's feedback. However, the camera system has changed for the third time in the last 2 weeks without an official update list and I have a feeling it won't be the last. ^_^ Apart from that, the game is gradually getting nicer.

A difficult game. Great base-protection elements. It's worth paying for, because you don't go for one run, it's almost guaranteed.

A Kingom-like gaming experience. But it's sufficiently different, fresh and new. There are a lot of interesting mechanics, from the different functions of the auxiliary units to the skin and ability variations, or the uniqueness of the building mechanics that I would like to highlight. The downside is that the enemies seem a bit one-cardboard at first. Then over time it became clear to me that they can be different in speed, number of hits, quantity. The course is interestingly asymmetrical, well designed. There is still room for content, I hope it will be develop. But I highly recommend it to anyone who likes similar games.

Impressive atmosphere. The tutorial is detailed and self-explanatory. The introductory story sets the mood of the game perfectly from the beginning. Fighting against the Molds is not easy, you have to think a lot and use tactics, and you have the opportunity to do this at the echo station. The game has many challenges, but they are overcomeable.

A nice little game overall. The graphics are pretty, I really liked the background art. It’s post-apocaliptic style is right up my alley and the story setting is interesting too. The absolute lack of information is interesting. At first it’s a bit annoying, but then you get experimenting, observing things run by run. It’s actually quite rewarding to figure things out and progress further. However there are places that would definetly need more info. It’s a bit unpolished and there are some QOL features to be made, but it has come a long way since the first version. It’s worth trying, especially if you can get it on sale. Just be sure to give it enough time to figure things out.

Moldbreaker is with you. The game is significantly better than I expected. Get in if you can.

The game's world-building is detailed and authentic, which further deepens the experience. The game is fundamentally entertaining, though it can slow down at times due to some idle periods. The pixel art graphics are beautifully crafted and continue to improve, while the gameplay consistently offers challenges. I recommend it!

A minimalist yet deep strategy game. However, reading the comments and patch logs, I feel that not enough attention is being paid to how interesting the story is. With enough run and loot gathering, a quite somber but cute story unfolds about the main character's family and origins. A big high five.
