This game bangs, IDC what splinter cell fans say.
One of the best game in Splinter Cell series, no doubt the first Splinter Cell is the best game presented to us and this one is in the second in the list! So, if you liked Splinter Cell (first one) then there is a high probability that you'd like this game too!
Let me be clear: I have a lot of nostalgia for this game. I played the absolute bejeezus out of it back on the 360, to the point where I reset my progress multiple times just so I could progress through the whole thing again. It's one of those games that, when I couldn't really afford anything remotely new, I would play over and over again. That said, there's a lot wrong with Splinter Cell: Conviction. So much of what made the series iconic is just gone: level design deteriorates into a room-by-room corridor crawl, there's no reason to use most of the tools you're given, and the story of an angry father taking revenge is ditched before the halfway point (this was before Dad Games were really a thing, so it was something a lot of fans were excited for). Really, Conviction isn't a good stealth game OR a good Splinter Cell game. Moments like the helicopter chase stick out like a sore thumb, and proof that aping action games like Uncharted was a bigger priority than making a Splinter...
This is not Splinter Cell. Even if you say "hey, it's a different story, it's a different Sam Fisher" the game is still janky AF. Shooting feels like you're firing cheap airsoft guns. The stealth mechanics have been completely boiled down to basically nothing and the visuals (especially the look of lights and shadows) are somehow worse than in the OG Splinter Cell. The plot is nonsense and the campaign is only 6 hours long. As a Splinter Cell fan, I had high expectations and got massively disappointed.
It doesn't feel a Splinter Cell game at all. Still a decent action/stealth game if you like the genre. Not worth buying at full price, I suggest waiting for a discount. 7/10
splinter cell is the only reason i give a damn about ubisoft...and since it's been almost a decade since the last game on the series, yeah, i can properly say i dont give a damn about ubisoft anymore. as for this game, it's funny. and the story is interesting, that's all i ask.
bad game play and bad story, although it looks pretty nice sometimes.
