Even without crashing, the game lags by default -- especially moving objects and building. These issues need to be fixed first so the game is more playable

this game don't even work lmao. fix ur sh*t before putting it on the steam store.
This is probably my 2nd favorite Sims game..... ''OMG! T-ThIs gAmE iS SoOO hArd.. ThiS iS LiKe DaRkSoUls oF SiMs SeRieS'' It was always designed to be like this. The Sims is essentially a digital dollhouse where you play as god and have to micro-manage your sim through the ratrace & the impossibility of juggling relationships & networking, learning very worthwhile valuable life skills, career & your own wellbeing needs. Your sim will refuse to do anything if he is in a bad mood state, to get them out of the rut as a whole requires you to have more expensive utilities which arent that easy to get when you are poor to start. Your whole life position is basically dependant upon your mood, if some of your needs are not being fulfilled you can forget about self-actualization & career growth.. Making and keeping friends is very difficult in the game but is required to ascend in your career at some point. I would say staying at home and earning through some skill/hobby is better fo...
I haven’t even played a lot of this game, but I love the idea of it being a satire of American consumer society from the ’90s. Even though I’m not from that era, I still love playing it—obviously with cheats—because keeping your Sims happy and in a good mood is so HARD. Sims get annoyed so easily; even if you call them on the phone, they’ll scream that you interrupted their favorite TV program! Despite all that, the building system is simple and surprisingly fun. I have a great time choosing which fridge or toilet to put in the house. The value of items feels like a ticking time bomb—they break or catch fire, making your Sim miserable, sometimes wetting their pants, running around panicked, or even accidentally “closing full pools.” For me, more than just a computer game, The Sims 1 is the cornerstone of the series. Sometimes there are moments that are genuinely scary: death, and the screams of Sims when they die of hunger or get burned at the BBQ. My favorite famil...
⭐ The Sims™ Legacy Collection - A Nostalgic Reunion to Simplicity
What I Played: I dove back into the iconic world of The Sims 1 with all the expansion packs in tow. No CD hassle, just pure Sim-building mayhem on my modern PC. The Good:

Reliving the classic Sims experience without CD installations brought back so many memories. It's like time traveling to simpler gaming days.
Having all expansions ready to go means endless creative opportunities and chaos-making without interruption.
The Bad:

Missing Steam Cloud support was a bummer. Hopefully, that's something they'll add down the line.
While the nostalgia was sweet, the graphics and mechanics definitely show their age. It's more about the retro vibe than cutting-edge gameplay.
Verdict: Recommended - If you're a Sims fan looking to revisit where it all started, this collection is a golden ticket. Embrace the wonky animations, quirky AI...
the game just flashes nonstop making it unplayable.
I was hesitant to get this, given the reviews and the price! I'm not a very tech-savvy person but wanted the nostalgia hit. Didn't want to install patches or things, just run the game, without crashes and problems! 8 hours playing, no crashes. All good. It is annoying you can't uninstall all the expansion pack (at least it's not simple for me to do), but they aren't that obstrusive and you can ignore most of them: except for the litter of cats and dogs which are just always in the way and the pests (I never had to spray so much before!) Also, it seems like there are permanent flies resident in my house. However, I've actually enjoyed being able to leave my house and meet people in town.
While there's much to be said in relation to the actual qualities of the game divorced from its re-release I feel many people, including myself, are looking to see what it has improved upon or changed. After playing this for a while and comparing it to my original experiences playing it as a child and having deep nostalgia for it, there's a lot to unpack: What I Love:

I really like how this game was released as a single pack and NOT having the separate DLC's being their own individual purchases, which knowing EA they very well could have gotten away with that without many of us being able to do anything about it.
Despite the other reviews stating stability issues I've yet to run into more than perhaps one or two crashes to desktop during startup or normal gameplay. While it may seem stable on my system, your own experiences may differ and you should definitely refund it as soon as you can if you realize it doesn't work with yours.
Everything that I ever wanted and more...
Just as good as I remember. No crashes or performance issues. Doesn't require the EA app. Resolution can be changed in-game by going to the settings. Good price considering you get all expansions. So glad I can play this again.
I like the game, love it actually. If you like having a social sim and enjoy brutally figuring out why their always depressed then this stress is for you! The only issues as far as crashing wise is my screen flashing on and off the game but recently i think that's been fixed for me. Just to be on the safe side bc its still EA I recommend saving after a good decent amount of progress or just every good 30 mins to an hour.
