About This Game

Butcherbird is a simple survival game where you manage a group of 7 survivors as they conduct their air defense against the apocalypse.

Control and coordinate the abilities of each survivor at your disposal to shred through hundreds and thousands of hellion constructs.

In the downtime between the ceaseless waves of carnage, follow the mundane stories and day-to-day lives of these survivors as they roam the wasteland, encountering each other and exploring the ruins of humanity.

Overall another very nice and cool game from Nowaki. I enjoyed butcherbird alot, the smooth gameplay, nice (altough vauge) story and fun character dynamics were really a joy to go through. From Black Beacon Hill to Records of a Flycatcher to this, all of Nowakis games are very charming. My only two complaints are: I wish there was more story ( maybe more like Black Beacon Hill's story which went from level to level ) I wish there were more major upgrades ( upto level 5 atleast ) Overall I very much enjoyed the game, my rating for this game will be a solid 8.5 out of 10. Btw my highscore was wave 156 on very hard

Nowaki's line of games still continue to please me with every release they come up with, Butcherbird being this latest one. The game is a fairly simple wave defense loop, upgrading each unit progressively as times goes on while managing your supply to keep them up, and it's fun! Each run is fairly short, ranging to 5-10 minutes at most, and finishing these runs can give you a currency to unlock upgrades for said units, along with tidbits of story for each of them. Moving on from that, I'm glad to see Nowaki returning to the visual novel style storytelling, along with not abandoning the Black Beacon Hill universe(Seeing how Hellion is still present). The writing of their games as always is a little iffy in terms of it's style, but the character's they write themselves are charming, and I just love each and every one of them. The art style as well is just such a nice sight and I love every bit of it. This game as a whole is a nice little package coming from Nowaki, and I'm forever gratef...

I just put some time into butcher-bird, and once again have felt this sadness from the characters as they wonder whatever is left. after playing a game in the Nowaki library i am always left with a emotion that i can not properly describe, and always immediately happy that they are continuing to make games, as i love the style and nearly every single detail they include, I will put more time into BUTCHER-BIRD and will hope the hard modes unlock more story as i just can't help myself from enjoying the company of this little assemblage of survivors. here's hoping to more games from nowaki! and here's hoping that each one is something they are proud of.
