I had high hopes for this game. When I first saw it, I added it to my wish list. As a writer and former editor, I’ve enjoyed word games and puzzles all throughout my life. I’ve spent quite a chunk of change on Dell and Penny Press magazines. My favorite “board” game is Boggle. Adding to the excitement of this being a word game is that it surrounds my favorite animal. I’ve been a bird lover as long as I’ve been a word game player. My favorite cartoon/comic character is a bird. As I said, I was looking forward to purchasing and playing this game. Now I have. Pros The birds are cute. The graphics are good. There is no timer so one can have a more relaxed experience. The sound effects are decent. Finding words from a bunch of letters is (mostly) enjoyable. (An anagram experience.) Cons If you don’t succeed, you have to start from the beginning again. If you get nothing but consonants, trading letters is limited. The requirements to advance to the next level increase dra...

About This Game
Build words, play cards, and take flight!
Features:
A deckbuilding word game inspired by Wordle, Scrabble and Balatro
Strategize, build your deck and build up your high score
Guide your adorable flock on a round-the-world migration
Roguelike elements – how far will your flock go?
Birdigo is an adorable mashup of Wordle and Balatro created by screenwriter John August (Corpse Bride, Charlie’s Angels) and developer Corey Martin (Bonfire Peaks, Pipe Push Paradise). Piece together words from your deck of letters and guide a flock of birds in their migration around the world!
Assemble letter cards into words, which add up into ‘flaps’ to send you further along your journey. Longer words score higher, but specific combos can turn short words into powerhouses. Use enchanted feathers, letters and songs to change the rules of the game as you go.
Build up your deck and develop your own strategy in each game. You’ll need to play carefully, as the distance gets further with each round. Stack up a massive high score and guide your flock to safety!

The Balatro of word games, feathers are jiokers and songs are consumables. its nice and ambient and neat!
Fun game, but I lost because fuck is not a word :(
Challenging and fun, can be played repeatedly as your results vary with each round as you learn which enhancements are more valuable and how to use them.
Tested out swearing, unlocked a Vulgar word set.
addicting.
Cool word game with some interesting combo power ups.
The game is simple and the birds are cute. I got a bunch of chill hours out of it. Unfortunately, I think it's really just too random to play for more than a little while. You get so few chances at feathers and the selection is random, you get so few chances to level up tiles. Unless you get lucky with what feathers you get, you just lose in a really perfunctory way. The way the multipliers work, there's also not much incentive for spelling long words either, so it feels bad when you use up all your hand on a great word but it's worth less than a 3-letter word because your feathers want short words.
Easy to pickup yet always challenging. Great blend of game mechanics. Instant classic for me and part of my daily word puzzles.
Its fun, but it feels not quite complete. Some balancing, some more perk cards, and options when completing a run. Maybe some ? events? Maybe something like stopping for food, water, rest, mates? (this could be further into the game and I havent unlocked it yet but as of 3 hours played I havent seen them) As the game is now I still recommend it. It appeals to all ages without sacrificing skill. I truly think this game could be a staple in the roguelite genre! Love to the devs! Great game and awesome concept! (Id love hummingbird implementation somehow. Those little birds go incredibly far! A Roufus Hummingbird travels nearly 4,000 miles from Alaska to Mexico! Could make for a cool dlc?)
