About This Game

Shadow Warrior 2 Deluxe

Shadow Warrior 2 Deluxe includes the Shadow Warrior 2 soundtrack, Shadow Warrior 2 art book, and the Solid Gold Pack containing an exclusive gold ninja, gold katana, and gold MP7 gun.

About the Game

Shadow Warrior 2 is the stunning evolution of Flying Wild Hog’s offbeat first-person shooter following the further misadventures of former corporate shogun Lo Wang. Now surviving as a reclusive mercenary on the edge of a corrupted world, the formidable warrior must again wield a devastating combination of guns, blades, magic and wit to strike down the demonic legions overwhelming the world. Battle alongside allies online in four-player co-op or go it alone in spectacular procedurally-generated landscapes to complete daring missions and collect powerful new weapons, armor, and arcane relics of legend.

STORY

Five years have passed since Lo Wang shattered the alliance between his deceitful former boss and the ancient gods of the shadow realm. Despite noble intentions, Lo Wang’s efforts to annihilate the darkness corrupted the world, creating a strange and savage new order where humans and demons live side by side.

The once feared warrior now lives in the shifting wildlands outside the reach of his enemies and the neon glow of Zilla’s cybernetic metropolis, scratching out a meager existence as a hired sword for the local Yakuza clans. When a simple mission goes wrong, Lo Wang is drawn into a volatile conflict between a brilliant young scientist, his nemesis Orochi Zilla, and the demonic forces that have become unsettled in our world. The sharp-tongued hero must once again wield lethal blades, staggering firepower, and archaic magic to purge the world of evil.

FEATURES

Blades and Bullets: Lo Wang delivers his own brand full throttle brutality with an expanded array of over 70 lethal blades and explosive firearms to overcome the demonic opposition. Become a whirlwind of steel and blood with razor sharp katana, short swords, crescent blades, and hand claws or unleash a hellish symphony of ornate firearms to decimate your enemies.

Four Player Co-Op: Battle through the expansive campaign alone or team up as a four-player typhoon of destruction online in campaign co-op mode. Tackle challenging primary missions or thrilling side quests while maintaining your own ninja style with customizable armor, items, and valuable loot from your triumphs.

Procedural Environments: The breach between the human and demon realms created an interdimensional hernia resulting in constant shifts to the world of Shadow Warrior 2. Procedurally generated landscapes and paths bring new twists and turns to once familiar terrain and routine missions.

Brutal Damage System: Choose your weapon based on the situation at hand and then dismantle everything that stands in your path with an advanced gore system. Use precision blade strikes to separate limbs and heads or switch to heavy ordinance and blow a hole right through colossal beasts.

Custom Upgrade System: Upgrade weapons in your arsenal with up to three stones at once to improve performance or augment them with devastating elemental effects. Collect karma, amulets, and armor to enhance Lo Wang’s power and shift his death-dealing artistry into overdrive.

Shadow Warrior Series

The Shadow Warrior series started back in the 90s with Shadow Warrior Classic that was remastered and released on Steam by Devolver Digital and 3D Realms as Shadow Warrior Classic Redux. Then in 2013, Flying Wild Hog and Devolver Digital released the bold reimagining of the legend of Lo Wang with the modern classic Shadow Warrior.

Second game in the series and they again failed to make gunplay that DOESN'T feel like shit. Not just that, slapping looter shooter rpg mechanics only made it worse, as nothing mixes in a worse way than bad gunplay and bulletsponge enemies. The only gun that actually felt decent to use was the pump-action shotgun, and even then they made a bizzare choice of giving it a canned reload animation instead of Wang actually loading it shell by shell like in any other game. I died inside when I bought an assault rifle and saw that it has literally ZERO recoil or weight to it, you just hold the mouse button down and damage numbers pop up. No idea what they were thinking with the story too, from the start it's just completely disjointed with Wang just teleporting from place to place between cutscenes, feels like you're watching some "Full Game Movie All Cutscenes" video. And for some reason they thought it would be a GREAT idea to replace the funny dynamic Wang had with Hoji with having some ann...

Liked the vibe. Story? Lost me halfway, didn’t care anymore. Combat? Cool. Most enemies? Skipped right past them. Next mission too difficult? Didn’t matter, went in anyway, won. Didn’t die once. Bosses? Surprisingly fun. Whole thing felt like a fever dream, and I enjoyed every second.

You get the Wong by the horns, its a good game, the only thing is some of the bosses get scrubby daddy sponge to the point you are going in circles until you kill it.

I loved the first one and have over 50hours in it. A straight linear story with good fun and replayability. Now its open word and Sponge Enemies. Fetch quests usless upgrades and an IMO shitty Skill system. I payed 3€ for it but i think that even that is to much.

My thoughts on Shadow Warrior 2: I finished the main story in about 5 hours, doing almost no side quests, and honestly I didn’t feel much of a desire to go back for them. The main reason is that I’m not a big fan of fast-paced shooters. That said, if you’re a fan of DOOM, or at least enjoy that style, Shadow Warrior 2 might be right up your alley. It offers a good variety of weapons and, for a 5-hour run, a decent variety of enemies as well. This isn’t a game you play for the story — it’s one you play purely for the action.

After having played through both 1 and 2 recently I can see where they improved, and kind of where they were still stuck. Again, the gun models cover WAY too much of the screen for the damage they do, and with higher difficulties the bullet sponges start to clearly appear. Now this game is a "looter-shooter"-ish at its core, but the loot is meaningless. Yep, its one of those games, where you are showered in items that drop on the ground and one out of 2000 is an actual 0.1% damage boost to what you had before. There is so much upgrade-loot (note, not guns, there are few weapons in total in the game) that you dont even know where to start, its actually tiresome to go through 500 or so items just to get 1 or 2 things from it. you could EASILY shave down the 54 hours ive spent in this game down to maybe 38, for time spent looking at and trying to figure out "is this an upgrade?". Fun shooting enemies though. As soon as i got the desert eagle, the plot device weapon from...

Shadow Warrior 2 2016 is the sequel to the reboot of shadow Warrior 1 which has a much younger version of Lo Wang with a different personality and humour. I recommend this game esp if you liked the first reboot games playstyle. It is more fun the first time you play it. I'd say it is def better in most ways than the prequel. Lets me tell you why -Way more guns, heaps and heaps of guns from energy based guns to bow to various machine guns, rocket launchers and demon weapons. Way more melee weapons on top of that as well from chainsaws to pirate swords etc. Throughout your first playthough you won't stop getting guns. Literally every time you complete a mission or side mission or defeat a boss you get a choice of weapon. Weapons can be modded as well with gems to add stats or elemental damage to them as well as tranfusing them using a currency in the forge to increase their base stats. -You can also combine 3 weapon gems for a chance to create a more rarer gem with better stats. And y...

Cartoonishly over the top with a few gems of dialogue between all the slop, but they definitely fixed the majority of issues I had with the first game. In terms of raw gameplay, it's incredibly fun! Hacking and slashing demons and Yakuza doesn't get old(at least on anything lower than Insanity 2), and the amount of control given to the player to move around the map and between encounters is phenomenal. Dash > Momentum Jump > Dash > Momentum Double Jump > Change Direction Midair using Strike(Divider of Heavens) was used plenty, and it's very fun to just launch yourself across gaps and chasms or just around the map in general with all the movement freedom you're given! There's only a handful of environments, but I quite like the randomized environmental effects that change them up so they don't get stale, and even the hub world is affected. The physics engine is really neat, and having your foes explode into dozens of parts or sliced in half based on direction of your slash. The story ...
