About This Game

Description

In Grow Home you play as BUD (Botanical Utility Droid), a robot on a mission to save his home planet by harvesting the seeds of a giant alien plant. On his quest BUD will discover a beautiful world of floating islands that are home to some rather strange plants and animals.
Grow the giant plant and use your unique climbing abilities to reach ever higher ground, but be careful…one wrong move and it’s a long way down!

Key Features

Climbing: Procedural animation allows you to move BUD's hands independently, creating a unique and unrestricted climbing experience.

Growing: Guide and ride the giant alien plant as you create your own pathways in the sky. Everything you grow can be climbed on. Use it as a bridge, a safety net, or simply as a tool for artistic expression.

Exploration: Explore every nook and cranny of the alien world as you hunt and collect crystals that can enhance BUD's abilities. It’s a physical playground and many of the alien plants have unusual properties that can help you on your quest.

I cannot play this game, so i will be requesting a refund, however, for others I sincerely think this is charming and a genuinely fun collect-a-thon. I run a 200hz monitor with a very solid pc, getting 200ish frames from the game. However, for whatever reason I get this terrible eye-straining motion blur. I believe it has to do with maybe how the game runs its refresh rate (like physics timings n such) so for other people (probably those with a normal 60hz monitor lol) im pretty sure you won't have my problem. Overall, it's cheap and seems like a modest playtime to complete, it's peaceful, but quirky. I think you'll like it :)

The Original Peak, 10 Years before it was even a thing. Super creative and cute climbing and exploration game. Lots of style and even more fun!

Back when Ubisoft also made good games, and not just open world slop with radio towers. Be aware that the game tends to crash when alt-tabbing from fullscreen, select windowed mode in game and launch with "-popupwindow" parameter to get borderless fullscreen with functional alt-tabbing.

I really expected better it looked so fun but the platforming and the camera problems surrounding it really make this game unbearable to play

The game is pretty fun as a momentum style limb climbing and platforming game. The world and aesthetic are beautiful and the story is interesting. However, I alt+tabbed out for a moment and it crashed the game. "That's fine" I thought as I had opened several teleportation checkpoints. Apparently they didn't save properly during the crash. I lost an hour of progress. No thank you
