It's a pretty cool game, if you loved games like REZ (I'm a huge fan) on the Sega Dreamcast or PS2 you probably won't be dissappointed with this one. Nothing much to say except that it's a bit short and a gamepad is STRONGLY recommended. + Great visuals + Nice music - Too short unless you aim for perfect scores

About This Game
With technology far beyond human comprehension, the discoverers of the astronaut use lasers to build physical replicas of the astronaut’s long-dead memories in hopes to understand what this strange creature was and why they are floating through space alone.
By controlling dual lasers with both analog sticks, players will:
- Collect Memory molecules scattered around the mysterious space ship
- Harmonize the Astronaut’s memories within the Astronaut’s metaphysical plane
- Warp back to reality through the Astronaut’s subconscious, avoiding mental blocks
- Energize the dead Astronaut so it can create physical manifestations of its memories
*Laserlife requires either an Intel® RealSense™ Camera or a controller in order to play*

This game feels like a spiritual successor to Rez on the PS2 which was one of my favorites. Fairly short, but has great replay value. The environments are both bizarre and beautiful. The story is intriguing and told in an interesting manner, and while being simlpe it really drew me in. As others have said this game requires a controller to play. Specifically an XInput compatible controller. 5/5
EDIT 2: The problem has been solved. It's now playable. EDIT: Two and half months later, and the devs have still not solved the issue or publicy addressed it in the forums to see who else is suffering from it. I'm sad. I really wish I could recommend this game. Sadly, I cannot. For a few months now, this game has been unplayable. Not in the "this is really glitchy" kind of sense. Not even in the "the latest patch makes X and Y annoying". No, it is much worse: this game doesn't start at all. After selecting whether to play it with a keyboard ("space") or controller ("A"), the screen goes black and that's it. The rest is silence. Trying to play it with all of the following has resulted in failure:

an XBOX 360 Controller;
a keyboard;
a Steam Controller and
my fists.
I am waiting for a response from the developers. Until this outrageous issue is fixed, this review is staying on depths of the "negative" sphere. If you can mak...
Now I love rhythm-based games, and Laserlife may be a great one - if you have the right controller. To me, this title seems clearly built for the Intel RealSense controller. Using the XBox360 feels quite awkward and I did not feel compelled to press on. Other than that, I thought the assets felt a bit dated and the music was surely competent but not mind blowing. The bar is high for this kind of stuff nowadays. With the Intel RealSense controller this may be a blast, but unfortunately I cannot recommend to those with XBox360 controllers.
Please beware: This game REQUIRES a controller to be played. It's not a suggestion, it's a requirement. That's why I'm asking for a refund. Going to recommend this game, music is beautiful, visuals and concept are very interesting. IF you have a controller.
Pair of headphones and an Xbox One controller...this purchase was the best decision I have made in WEEKS. The music gave me chills, the visuals are not too distracting while also being quite fun to "kinda" look at while you're playing. This game is my favorite in 2015 so far!
I’m stealing someone else's review "this caught me off guard!" in a very big way. Controller is not optional that just fine with me. I absolutely adore music games *not rhythm game specifically* but things like Beat Hazard, Beat Buddy, Kick Beat, Fract OCT, ect this one is very different and add a brand new charm to the idea of music in games it almost feels like a "runner game" I’m not very fall in as i just wanted to see what it was like before going back to the 100 hour commitment i have to Mad Max currently but as soon as i am done with that I’m going to spend some serious time with this gem.
If you're a fan of their previous game series, Bit Trip, you will love the two hours it will take you to complete all of the levels. Fantastic music and visuals, supported by it's mechanics really make you feel part of the music. However, it is extremely short, and this really is what makes it not worth its price at all. It should be a quarter of the price it is demanding. There is no reason for having a score in this, it doesn't give you anything extra when you do nail a perfect level. As soon as you start getting a feel for its mechanics..it ends, that's it, no more content, just re-do the levels if you wish. I'll be asking for a refund, there are plenty of other games for the same price that are just as great but with quadruple the content. I really suggest waiting for a sale of atleast 60% off.
MAC Users Beware!!! This game claims to be mac compatible. It is not. No files download when installing, Many other mac users have complained and opened a thread with no response from developers regarding this issue. Game looks cool, Gameplay???????
A future intelligence with no concept of what a human being is finds a dead astronaut and proceeds to reconstruct his memories to try and understand what he is and what happened: this translates into a game where you control two beams of light and collect memories accompanied by high tempo music and beautiful sights. Laserlife is part rhythm game part trippy experience and, while brief, its fun gameplay, great music and dreamlike imagery make it an hidden gem. PROS: -good graphics, the various images appearing during levels are nicely done and in sync with the music -great soundtrack, good sound design -the gameplay is simple but quite fun and slowly ramps up in speed and difficulty -tight and responsive controls -different difficulty levels make the game as relaxing or as challenging as you want -slowly uncovering memories is nice, while there's no real story discovering the astronaut's life and what happened on his last trip was intriguing -leaderboards for each game l...
