About This Game

Explore, create... or venture beyond.

LIMSCAPE is a game where you can freely explore mysterious and quiet spaces.

You can simply walk through the world and still enjoy it fully.

But if you wish, you can also reshape the world with your own hands.

Whether you’re here to explore or to create using it as a tool, LIMSCAPE offers a world you can enjoy at your own pace.

Begin your journey with five carefully crafted official stages.

Hotels, flood control facilities, metro systems, pools, office buildings, cities──

Familiar yet unsettling liminal spaces invite you into a silent journey.

Each stage contains a hidden message: a fragment of LIMSCAPE's essence.

The conditions for clearing a stage are extremely simple.

Just move and aim for the goal.

That’s where everything begins.

However, LIMSCAPE is not just about walking.

Swim, jump, crouch, climb, pick up objects, throw──

All natural human body functions are realized with simple, intuitive controls.

At first, walking will be enough to progress, but soon you'll need to climb, swim, and leap,

transitioning from flat movement to vertical action.

Various situations will make your exploration deeper and more exciting.

And in the end, you will realize:

Why you kept entering LIMSCAPE to seek the goal──

What LIMSCAPE truly is, and what its role means.

Another hidden, equally important way to experience the game.

"Create your own world. ── Don't be a pawn, be the hand."

"LIMSCAPE" is not just a walking game.

After completing your journey through the official stages,

you'll discover another possibility:

──The world can be shaped with your own hands.

The game features a simple, accessible sandbox mode.

- Place objects with just a few clicks

- Freely control lighting, shadows, and physics

- Edit the space in real-time and breathe life into your creations

Created worlds can be saved, exported, and imported.

External sharing is already supported, and a featured world showcase system within the app is planned for future updates.

From explorer to creator.

LIMSCAPE quietly supports your first steps.

【Attention】

Important information before purchase:

"LIMSCAPE" is recommended for users with a desktop PC equipped with a dedicated GPU.

Laptops or devices with limited graphics performance may not provide an optimal experience.

This game is not designed to pursue ultra-high framerates.

It is optimized for up to 60fps, but remains smooth and cinematic even around 25fps.

(Even on high-end PCs, limiting the framerate can often provide a smoother, lighter experience.)

Mastering the sandbox functionality requires a certain level of commitment.

However, the game is designed to be enjoyed progressively,

allowing you to slowly build your own world at your own pace.

"LIMSCAPE" is also designed to serve as a creation tool

for visual, artistic, or multimedia projects.

【Vision】

A world in constant expansion.

"LIMSCAPE" continues to evolve.

Currently focused on single-player gameplay, future updates aim to add VR support and multiplayer features.

Multiplayer will support private sharing via invitations.

(※ A public user world-sharing platform is not planned for the current Steam version.)

This is not just a game of exploration.

It is also a world-building tool, and a platform aiming to enable new forms of communication and creative expression.

Our ultimate goal:

To create a completely new kind of metaverse where voices and video blend together for genuine communication.

Far beyond simple text chats or avatar-only interactions,

it offers a communication experience where you can truly feel each other's "presence."

This journey has only just begun.

The worlds you create will expand the universe of LIMSCAPE.

【Platform Compatibility Notice】

〇Mac / Crossover Compatibility

Currently, LIMSCAPE does not run properly on macOS using Crossover. This issue is believed to be due to Unreal Engine’s use of Shader Model 6 (SM6) and DirectX 12, which are not fully supported by Crossover at this time.

On native Mac environments, hardware global illumination (hardware ray tracing) used by LIMSCAPE is not available. While software global illumination may function, both graphics quality and performance are significantly reduced and do not meet the standards we wish to deliver. Therefore, official macOS support is currently undecided.

If macOS (Metal) and Unreal Engine fully support the same rendering features as Windows in the future, we are fully prepared to release a Mac version promptly.

〇LIMSCAPE Platform Compatibility (As of 2025)

LIMSCAPE is designed as a high-end rendering focused project, utilizing Shader Model 6 (SM6) and DirectX 12 as its core rendering technologies.

As a result, the number of compatible environments is currently limited. However, as engines and hardware evolve and expand support, we plan to release native versions for each platform as compatibility becomes available.

At this time, official support is limited to Windows only.

There have been reports of LIMSCAPE running on Steam Deck, but this has not been officially tested or verified.

Platform Compatibility Details

・Mac Native (UE5.6 Metal RHI): Partially Supported
SM6, Nanite (partially supported on M2+ experimental basis), and Software Lumen are functional. Hardware ray tracing is not supported.

・Crossover (Wine layer): Not Supported
SM6 and DirectX 12 are not supported.

・Parallels (Virtualization): Not Supported
DX12 emulation is incomplete or unsupported.

・Steam Deck (Proton): Reported Working
SM6 is partially supported through Vulkan translation.

I am reviewing this game in context with games similar in genre: POOLS, Anemoiapolis, Complex:Expedition, etc. If you haven't played any of those, you will likely enjoy this. Limscape has: * Good quality sound * Generally a good , smooth, well performing graphics engine - a few bugs but pretty rare. * A decent amount of content to explore. What's the problem? The real challenge with "liminal space exploration games" is that it's an invitation for a minimal creative effort from developers. "You want to explore a spooky hallway, ok here's a completely and utterly featureless environment with a bunch of random rooms with a few props in them." That's it. It's a bunch of random rooms and halls with a few props in them. The game does not have really interesting architecture or level design so as you play , the illusion of playing in a minimally created videogame tech demo is not dispelled. Compared to Anemoiapolis, which situates you as a lost technician, or Pools, which has many...

This seems to be the very best Liminal Space game, you can jump, climb and swim, and in some spots you have very muted gravity or zero gravity. so there is so much more to the maps, as well as there being able to walk on walls and ceilings, you really get you brain stretched on this one. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I never accidentally clipped out of any of the stages, most liminal space games have some bugs where you clip out and fall thru the bottom of the map, not here, that will only happen if you try out some of the user's limscape maps because this app isn't just a game it has a sandbox mode where you can build worlds. I haven't started on that yet, but I can see this game getting huge once people see what it is. Imagine Sim city, but with like, impossible situations in physics. Good luck to you if you've never played :)

I'm only writing a review because I'm deathly stuck on the "limscape" ending. i chose the "earth" ending first. sat through the credits and got the baby ending. then i wanted to do the "Limspace" ending. I did it, got to the window overlooking the earth, got the music but no credits. Instead it zoomed out and dropped me into the "Universe". the earth you're "overlooking" is a screen room. idk if my game glitched out or what. I roamed around the pitch black room for a few minutes and saw a little hand head guy (on the right side of the screen) and he was pointing right (the direction) at something. that made me think it wasn't a glitch. But i cant seem to find any exit. any setting changes to the brightness are futile. i just need to know if I was meant to fall into there or not. (and if its even possible to escape from there)

Game so far is very vibrant and feels very liminal. Train level is very freaky. Great game play mechanics and just very peaceful.

A real labor of love, and one of the few liminal games that let you make your own maps in-game.
