Not ready for release, even early access. The physics are awful, camera doesn't pan properly (leaves it tilted to the left or right depending on a last curve), maps aren't properly described (beach race described as smooth concrete). Bought this game because of nostalgia for Re-Volt, Don't make my mistake.

Absolute scam of a game. A toddler is faster than the ai physics suck and there is almost nothing to do. Get high voltage instead

I am recommending this game because it has a lot of potential. At the moment, it's not worth the 29 NZD but at the tail end of Early Access, I feel like it will be. Right now, it feels like a tech demo with not that much content (everything from Playtest). I'll update the review at major updates. The graphics look really nice. Especially the Funfair Map and the Seaside Map. I like how the off road vehicle feels. But for the other 2, (the buggy and the on road vehicles) the turn circle is too big. Also, the collisions are too bouncy. One hard wall hit, one awkward landing or one ram from an opponent will spin you around. I like the customisation options. Performance can be better. I get 40-60fps at Epic Settings with my Ryzen 9 6900HX, RTX 3080 Gaming Laptop. The Stadium Map has the worst performance for some reason. I feel like Track Design is pretty good, a little bit above mediocre. I like the loop-de-loop in the Skatepark Map. The Construction Maps are a bit too small. I like t...

Recharge is one of those games that draws you in right away. It's a fun and surprisingly addictive way to pass the time because it's perfect for short sessions but keeps you coming back for "just one more race". I’m also looking forward to the upcoming new modes!!

I played about an hour and a half of Recharge on Steam Early Access and found it to be an enjoyable experience. It captures the feel of RC car racing well—fast, responsive, and with a good balance of control and unpredictability. While there are still areas that need work, the foundation is strong. The controls become more engaging once you move past the basic starter car, which feels a little plain. Building and driving your own custom cars adds variety, with each vehicle having a distinct feel. For an Early Access game, the physics are convincing—cars carry weight but still handle with agility. Visually, the game is appealing and runs smoothly even with high settings enabled. The skate park, amusement park, and dirt road tracks stand out for their design and atmosphere, making them enjoyable to revisit. In terms of content, there are already several cars and tracks available, offering enough variety to keep things interesting. After my time with it, I still felt there was plen...

I played about 40 minutes of Recharge on Steam Early Access, and it left a decent first impression. The RC racing feel is fun, and the cars have a good sense of speed that makes races exciting. The visuals are colorful and smooth, and the skate park track was especially enjoyable. One issue I noticed is that the menu system can feel clumsy, especially with a controller. It breaks the flow a bit when you just want to jump into another race. Still, the game runs well and the track designs I tried were creative enough to keep me interested. Overall, Recharge already feels promising for an Early Access game. I’ll check back after a few updates to see how it improves. Score: 7.5/10

I have only had a couple of races but this game looks promising. I use to race rc cars from Tamya when I was younger and this is what it is suppose to be like. People complaining about lack of music but when you have a real RC car then it is the same like how you see in the game. Without any upscaling I get around 11 fps on a 3070ti - but suprising still highly playable. With DLSS on then im at around 150 fps. Cool game playing against the AI. Look forward to the game getting bigger to be able to play against real online players. Just one thing, not sure why there is a button for applying a break to an RC car, from what I remember there is only forward and reverse.
