About This Game
Block > parry > kill > turn into a minotaur > kill more > block less > die from a falling chest > win!
Project: KNOSSOS let´s you and up to 7 friends fight through 4 different gamemodes in levels inspired by real ancient greek temple layouts. Blindly hack away at your frenemies or band together to fight the strongest players. Coop is very optional though because only one can win.
This game got shown at various Exhibitions and Cons as a booth for 8 players since 2018. For this at home version you´ll need a controller for each player. The game supports multiple different controller types, so each of your friends could bring their own from home.
Game Modes:
Minotaur: free for all with the leading player transforming into the minotaur, unable to pickup powerups but having big boulders of death to throw. Players can respawn limitless until one reaches the pointlimit to win!
Flood: be the first player to spawn the flood, which prevents respawning and gradually fills the arena
Marathon: run from one side of the arena to the other to score points and get new munition for your shotgun, while all other players try to stop you with shields and swords
Sacrificial Football: pst! its a secret
on most maps chests with powerups fall from the sky to aid the players, but beware if you find yourself standing in their landing area
How to play:
Plug in as many controllers (up to 8) as you want.
Use ESC and your keyboard to restart, return to the lobby or end the game.
Characters can only be controlled by controllers. The host needs one too.
Historical Context:
Project: KNOSSOS is inspired by the Minoan Culture, which was civilization in ancient greece living on several islands like Crete and Knossos. Many Myths and Sagas surrounding this island are known till today, like the tale of the Minotaur. The Minoans ultimately got wiped out by a tsunami that followed a vulcanic eruption on the island of Santorini.
