I really wanted to like this game since it's such a unique twist on the tactical RPG, but unfortunately the level design is so unpredictable (and not in a good way) and repetitive. Yes, I did mean to use those words together. It's unpredictable because the game uses poorly-coded procedural generation that can drastically alter the difficulty of a level depending on if it randomly decides to spawn every enemy close to you, and further away and more spaced out, making victories often feel more like a roll of the dice than anything related to skill. The game is repetitive because the ricochet mechanic is fun at first, but you get used to it after a couple hours, then it's just a matter of grinding these dull procedurally generated levels with not enough new things thrown into the mix to justify this game's length. The characters are also very flat and basically have no progression. Get back to me when there's a version of this game with hand-crafted levels. Oh wait! The publisher random...

XCOM, but 2D. Actually very good, enjoyed it a lot. Gameplay is very fun, characters are varied and enjoyable. Move to place, take aim and shoot. Fun to get trick shots. Several characters to choose from, missions have different team limits from 1 to 4 different characters. Every character has a slightly different play style, usually focusing on two of three points: movement, damage and health. Leveling them takes a while, but there are solo missions made just for leveling. Difficulty was ok, had some defeats now and then, but usually due poor decisions. Bosses can get a bit unfair if you don't rush them though. I'd say it has the perfect game length, but its also very repetitive. Every mission is a variation of "go here, kill things". Bosses can be a bit annoying, with a combo of spamming turrets, spawning units and insane trick shots. Limited inventory space is lame and so is requiring to grind for money to get some weapons that I never got as a random drop. You can replay missi...
Like tactics? Like shooting robots? Like geometry? This is the game for you! It's charming, it's fun, it has a good range of difficulties, it doesn't overstep its bounds or try to do too much, and it wraps up before becoming stale.
Better version of Xcom
ive been addicted since i first bought it
Great tactical shooter and also very thematic and punny. You manually aim your attacks, and when you barely miss a headshot, you'll knock off the enemy's hat which you can collect and equip later! And they'll curse in different ways based on their traits and personality, it's very humorous.
Great little game! It kinda hits a bit on the nostalgia of playing good old browsing flash games, but it also feels complete (rather than flash games felling like demos). Gameplay is very fun! I just wish we could have some kind of endless mode in which we can keep not only shooting forever, which we already kinda have, but that also brings more challenge on each wave, with more and more enemies! And that we could personalize it, and even bring the whole crew to the table. It has a good play time length for what we got tho. The universe is great and feels deeper than it looks, making you wonder about some characters stories. And even tho the story is just an excuse for the adventure to happen, it works pretty good, and it's the lines in between that makes it so rich compared to many other games stories. Art style is wonderful, and the whole thing feels surprisingly immersive for this kind of graphic, probably because of sound design too. Which btw. Music and sound design is fun, a...
