Best Served Cold has some good bones. There’s a clue mechanic where you ultimately have to come up with some conclusions by matching together clues at the end of the day -- and by chapter 1 you get a cat to pet, too! Always a plus in my book. That being said, many mechanics in this game could be improved for a more challenging game play. The clues sometimes seem like they should be able to combine, but it’s one of those games that requires specifics for you to move forward. Something that might make sense for you now might require some other clue you have to find that isn’t much different from a conclusion you’ve already drawn as a player. The characters and character art is great. You have some really fleshed out characters with different relationship dynamics, motivations, and belief systems. You won’t like all characters, and I personally like that in a game like this one. You get to know the characters more through other chapters, where you solve different crimes/myster...

About This Game
In an alternate history Europe, “The Nightcap” is the last speakeasy in town, and you’re pouring the drinks… while your customers spill their secrets. Mix and serve cocktails with a twist, as you become a detective while trying to save your bar.

Listen to your clienteles’ stories and learn about their lives as you unravel a mystery that touches every layer of Bukovie society, from the drunken dandies splashing cash on cocktails, to the crooked cops and seedy lowlifes who try to rope you into their shady schemes.
A good bartender knows the art of conversation is just as important as the ability to pour libations, so listen carefully and keep your wits about you as you delight, charm or even threaten your patrons to get the information you need. With a cast of 20 unique and engaging characters it’s up to you to choose who you can trust, who will have your back… and who will stab you in it!

Over the course of five cases, you’ll have to explore every clue and question every suspect to save lives… and save your business. It’s time to flip that sign to open, turn up the jazz and welcome your first customers of the night.
Bukovie may be a city in strife, with labour strikes, rationing, unrest and the shadow of war looming, but instead of cowering in fear, the citizens flock to dance halls and speakeasies. Crumbling grandeur might inspire melancholy, but that’s nothing a stiff drink won’t cure.
In a world of dwindling light, your speakeasy is a bonfire in the night. Though the city may soon burn, cocktails are always…
Best Served Cold.

I enjoyed my time with the game a lot! Beautiful artwork, interesting characters and a gripping story that unfolds over the span of several cases. The gameplay is repetitive but I didn't mind, as I saw this as a visual novel first and foremost. The drink mixing mechanic was just a little bonus. I think that's what needed to be fleshed out the most and might be something other people will find off putting. Other than that I would've loved more fleshed out endings where we get to follow-up/catch-up better with all the characters. It felt like I was missing something. Maybe I also just liked all of them too much and didn't want them to leave Q_Q Which really just goes to show how wonderful the character writing really is. If you like Visual Novel style games with a detective style/clue finding gameplay than this might just be the game for you.
Amazing story and addictive gameplay
Another "Detective" game with exactly the same problem as "Murder by Numbers". Look - I am not inherently against people writing plots based on fashionable Postmodernist progressive stack theory, but it is blatantly NOT going to be a particularly compelling mystery game if you can immediately eliminate every single minority group from the guilty suspects list and this coincidentally inevitably happens to be up to three out of the four options or the guilty one is evidently the suspect with the most straw-man right wing portrayal. This happens repeatedly while you drag yourself through boxes and boxes of dialogue of badly written female solidarity propaganda by a Gen-Z writer who evidently has never read the work of bell hooks, Greer or Camille Paglia nor any "feminist" more intellectually rigorous than Taylor Swift. This is supposed to be a deductive reasoning genre, not an exercise in the Frankfurt School of Jurisprudence.
Highly entertaining - character interactions were interesting and loved that they developed over time. I really enjoyed piecing together the murder mysteries while figuring out what each character wanted to drink. I found this much more engaging than Tavern Talk.
Absolutely incredible art and storyline- i quite literally plowed through the first chapter in a day it was that good! so worth the money and time
9.5/10 game for me. Slightly slower paced then im used to but holy hell does it make up for it in story depth. Def would recommend THE TWISTS WERE CRAZY and the ending was absolutely amazing
An amazing murder mystery! If you like finding clues and solving puzzles you will really enjoy this game. The characters are engaging and all have fun storylines you can discover as you become closer friends with them. All of the characters are multifaceted so you never get bored finding their motivations or interests. I would recommend this game for sure!
Stories and characters are so addictive it's insane. Wish I could talk with them even more.
Highly recommended. The vibes and the ambiance of this game is, imo, perfect for the setting. It definitely helped in immersing me within the world. I love the characters a lot and they got me invested in their lives. The art is gorgeous, and if this isn't a mystery game, I would've romanced every single one if I could. I usually don't play visual novels of this kind, but the mystery got me hook, line, and sinker. The dialogue is well-written and every character feels like they have their own voice. Nobody sounds exactly the same. It feels very fleshed out, and it does make me wary of showing certain clues to certain people. I would've liked it better if the bartending mini-game was a bit more difficult, but I understand that the main focus of the game is its mystery. One thing that disappointed me, however, is the lack of an epilogue. I would've liked to see Lucas and Bjorn in Scotia; the progress with Olivia and Efia's new play; Maria and Clara's "friednship", and the apartm...
