It really hurts to not recommend this game - because I want to. I was having the best time, loving the story and voice acting and then... after the third night, the game crashes after every. single. chapter. It appears this is a common issue with the game, but on forums and in the other reviews here. As a streamer, it made it unplayable to have the game crash so frequently. Hope this issue is resolved, because I reaaaally want to see it through to the end, but for the time being I can't recommend it.

User Reviews
Nightmare Shift nails atmospheric horror like few games do. Every detail from the hum of motel lights to the way shadows linger pulls you into Emma’s sleepless world. No cheap jump scares, just slow-building dread, clever storytelling, and photo-realistic visuals that make you question what’s real. The small details, branching endings, and subtle environmental clues show the developer’s passion and skill. It’s tense, immersive, and unforgettable the kind of game that sticks with you long after the credits roll. 10/10 – Hauntingly Brilliant
Slow paced, buggy game. Almost put me to sleep. Just not for me.
Crashes alot after night 3
Amazing scary game. good job you guys.. i really enjoyed it
This game is really good it would have been better if there was more to do in the motel each night but overall it was a good game
Im only saying yes as a recommendation bc the game is really good. it had good jump scares and my community enjoyed it. what i didn't enjoy was reloading the game when it crashed after every chapter change. if someone was playing just for fun or leisure, they'd probably just stop and move on. The story is good. i like the possibility of multiple endings. I wish the characters mouths moved when they talked, and there are some wonky body issues with animations of running and sitting. but in saying all of that, the game is worth it. i hope there is more that come from this game. worth the buy. hopefully the devs listen and fix it, bc i wont be playing my next run through on stream until the crashes stop.
One of the best horror games I ever played this year. It's creepy but not scary for me but still creepy. But there are some jumpscares that got me which is good. Like the story and I have been trying to figure out on who is the killer and what is happening and I like that. Love the atmosphere how it really makes you feel you are there with the main character and it does crept me out when I'm walking around. Yes, the game is still buggy at some point but not buggy till the point where I can't progress the story but bugs where you need to come and go and only then you will get the option to interact or the killer not hitting you on the first hit for some reason. Definitely, a good creepy horror game for whoever like horror games
I loved every minute of the 4.5 hours that I played. I had to break it down to 5 episodes, but I’ll post them here if you’re interested you can watch me struggle to the win! Was It All Just A Dream?! Nightmare Shift Episode 1 https://youtu.be/kgbKdVDUQkk
I really enjoyed this indie horror. Love the whole vibe of working at a creepy motel. It's got an interesting story, with a few twists and turns. It's worth the play for sure. Please, please make a spin-off version where you get to just be a front desk clerk for the motel. I wanted to do more of the motel clerk job stuff. We need more weird lodgers, more weird requests, more weird events. That'd be awesome.
