Dig Night

It is a CRIME that no one knows about this one. I hate how games that get translated later on down the line don't get bumped up on Steam. There are so many fun ideas with this. RPGMaker games that take advantage of a contemporary setting, let alone one set in a tangibly filthy city, where digging through trash is NECESSITATED for success, an active style of weapon-based combat where the system mechanics change based on what you have equipped, interplay between an RPS damage effectiveness system and status effects to mitigate loss and guarantee your success, a lot of it very well thought out despite it being esoteric at first glance. And... there are just a lot of things that made me lose my mind-- it's very clear that a lot of this game had true heart put into it. There is an air of irreverence to it and that just aligns with me. What a wonderful game. It's so nice to see actual gameplay in such a style of a story-driven RPG game. The way it functions really elevates the feeling of just barely scraping by, making the most of what you have. While I wish the game could be longer, it would probably be a detriment to an overarching story, it ends where it needs to and doesn't drag on. It's an absolute must play, and I can only hope this game achieves the popularity it deserves.
