About This Game

A short and simple game about gaining momentum to rip through the dimensions!

Particle Accelerator is a round based arcade style game where you are scored by your maximum momentum in a round. There are three perspectives that you can break into by reaching speeds. You gain momentum by collecting orbs and lose speed over time or by hitting obstacles or enemies. The map is infinite in all directions and non repeating.

Arcade style game where you play as a particle swimming, flying and collecting orbs to gain momentum while avoiding obstacles, when you gain enough momentum to fill up the bar you tear through the dimensions going from 2D to 3D to 4D!

It has simple but addicting gameplay, beautiful visuals and a great sound track.

Initially made for the 5K BlackThornProd Game Dev Competition.

This game is NOT:
- Long
- Complex
- Full of features

However, this game is:
- A VIBE

Play the music loud I guarantee you will feel something!

I definitely think this game needs more credit where credit is due. The game has a really nice vibe to it and a very simple loop. Runs don't take more than 2 minutes ever but that's what makes it good. The game is also really fricking hard like it took me like 5-10 minutes just to hit my first dimension hop. I definitely think you go a bit fast once you hit the higher speeds as it can be a little hard to stop from just instantly crashing or god forbid you have radiation on you and then youre extra cooked. The extra dimension is really nice but really hard i mean like super hard. getting energy seems to be a little clunky and it's a bit hard to dodge properly as the controls don't translate as well into 3d as they do in 2d. I do think this game had the most potential from the games listed and I would have liked to see the story you mentioned as well as the ending. Very good game though and i think it severely underrated

I think it's the start of something great in reference to the multidimensional travel. I had fun playing it even through it is a little on the short side but that doesn't take away from the nostalgic "Pong" like feeling I get while navigating through the continuous terrain and trying to reach a higher score.

If you are like me, you took a look at this game because of the Blackthornprod challenge video. I really enjoyed the level design and the dimension shift that the creator incorporated. I wanted to support this solo dev and I hope they develop the game more in the future.

Its is a very chill game, and a nice gameloop, however i would like to see some sort of distance travelled for the infinite mode.
