Investigation

Investigation is a very small game, and I learned that it's a personal project, the developer mentions it as well; a game made of not too high of a budget. I think that describes this game well in many ways. First of all, the menu doesn't have anything else than "New game" or "Quit game". You have to load into the game through a unskippable cutscene to reach the options menu, that just seemed a bit unintuitive and rushed. The volume slider is not functional in any way. Had to test it multiple times and it did not change the volume of the game, again seems very rushed and poorly tested. [quote=author]The volume slider is not functional in any way. I enjoyed the game even though it's not perfect, but it has a lot of potential. It actually really scared me, the chase is not that easy, which is nice. I encountered a bug in which, after you died, the game wouldn't restart and the corpse keeps killing you (only sound and `game over` message) and another one where I got stuck in crouch position (maybe because I changed the key bindins?). Apart from that it runs really smooth, it's nice that it saves automatically, you don't have to worry about restarting the whole game and the atmosphere keeps you tense. I liked this game! I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. Really good job with the suspense and the buildup. The last half was particularly challenging, but fun! First things first, this is a great concept and for the most part it's been well executed but there are definitely some loose ends that could do with being tidied up. I clipped through the floor, every time I died I have to manually reload or I was just sat on a blank screen, and the first time I died my entire inventory disappeared. I also wasn't a fan of the chase music but in terms of overall vibes and spookiness, this has made me excited for Chapter 2. A very fun realistic bodycam horror that took me 76 minutes to complete chapter 1. Im hyped for new chapters and its a very great game with nice graphics!
