At Death's Door is hands-down one of the scariest games I’ve ever played—and without question the most terrifying Unity game I’ve come across. What makes it so effective is its masterful use of ambience and sound design. You can go long stretches without encountering a single scare, yet the audio constantly keeps you on edge, making you feel like something is always just around the corner. That said, a big part of your time will be spent simply exploring and soaking in the dread-filled atmosphere and unraveling the mystery of how the hospital went abandoned and the patients it harbored—if that slow-burn style isn’t your thing, this might not be the game for you. What’s funny is I’m not even into these kind of games. I picked this up solely for the horror vibe—and I was not disappointed. Even though the levels stay the same, it still offers a ton of replay value for just $10. Bottom line: Give it a shot. It’s a seriously underrated gem that proves you don’t need a...

I’ve only just started the full version of At Death's Door, but I spent a lot of time with the demo, and it absolutely hooked me. The eerie atmosphere, immersive storytelling, and psychological horror elements were all there in the demo, and I'm thrilled to see that the full game builds on it beautifully. Even in just a few minutes, I can tell this is going to be something special. If the demo grabbed you, the full version is absolutely worth it.
This game was mad fun, had me screaming when things just come at you out of no where. The atmosphere is great, love the notes and the voice recordings. Really made me feel creeped out to explored. Would highly recommend as a horror game enthusiast!!
Game crashed 5 times trying to play. Also, way too loud … pass..
I'm a horror game newbie, but this game was a good start to get my feet wet in the genre! As someone whose big on story-telling, I liked the snippets of context and the way it layers the plot in naturally with the game-play. The atmosphere also helped immerse me into the world and the sound design is superb in creating dread. The game does a good job of building and retaining tension throughout, so even as you're just exploring, you feel that anxiety. It offers a lot of immersion and story, so would definitely recommend for other horror newbies!
At Death's Door is the perfect game for anyone looking for unexpected jump scares, deep-thought puzzles, interesting story lines, and twists. This was my first game in an asylum setting, and it brought a really unique, new perspective to horror games for me. Highly recommend for both well-versed horror game players and newbies!
WARNING! THIS IS A HAIR RAISING GAME! This is probably one of the scariest games I've played in this price range. I wasn't expecting much but this game is scary! It's also a lot longer than most games around 10 bucks, with better experience. PROS: - GAMEPLAY (NOT A WALKING SIMULATOR!) the game always have you doing stuff like solving puzzles, finding ritual objects using your ghost hunting gadgets, and using your camera to reveal some scares. They even have Platforming! - ATMOSPHERE is amazing it really sells the setting of an abandoned sinister mental hospital - NO CHEAP JUMP SCARES. I hate games that just do jump scares for no reason, the game really does a good job building to it and selling it. - TENSION gradually builds up but when it's up, ITS UP! After doing the last ritual boy I needed a Xanax. - SOUND DESIGN is top notch, the music is absolutely amazing. Droning sounds, impact sounds, and etc... - LORE so in this game they added tape recordings of very insane patients ...
