About This Game
- Expand: Keep expanding your land to find new limited resources.
- Manage Resources: Maintain a steady food supply to sustain your defenses and expansion.
- Defend: Build defensive forts in strategic places and adapt with swappable weaponry.
- Custom paths: Plan and build the path enemies must navigate.
In Tilescape Defense tile placement is the center of the gameplay. You're dealt a random hand of tiles to choose from and each selection refreshes the whole hand. If no tiles match your current landscape, expansion comes to a halt, and survival becomes a challenge.
Game is intended to be a constant balance between gaining new resources, maintaining food production and building required defenses in order to survive the next wave of enemies.
Victory is not to be expected on first playthrough!

Very interesting mechanic. At its heart it is a Tower defense game, but the enemy path might not need be that long as long as you keep the resources coming as you can seriously upgrade weapon strength. It will probably take a couple of runs to familiarise with the game, but hang in there. Don't get disheartened with what initially can be a lack of forts (just luck of the draw) as you don't lose too much life early on. A good value for money game.
Good abroach for tower defence genre. Tile placement gives freedom and its own challenges.
What I like: - The game is really addictive. It kind of sucks you in and makes you play again and again and again. - The resource management is interesting and works well for the game. - You actually have to think and plan how you build your economy. Building blindly, without thinking, WILL get you in trouble. What I don't like: - At the time of this review, there is no possibility to save. This sucks when you put 6 hours into a game and would like to take a brake. - Right now the weapons don't feel properly balanced. Some feel overpowered for when you get them and other underpowered to the point of useless. Hopefully this is something the dev is still working on.
Unique take on tower defense genre in which you have to manage few different resources while building the path for your enemies. A bit of a puzzle game when you have to plan ahead how you'll place your tiles and not create disadvantageous position for yourself in the future
Really great tower defence game! Reminds me of the board game Carcassonne
I was pleasantly surprised. Well worth the cost, and good escapism.
It´s a nice looking game and I think it has a lot to offer. I would prefer if you could choose to have a tutorial at the beginning of the game because I´m not a fan of reading instructions and I forgot almost half of them right away. I think it will take me few rounds of the game to actually learn what you should do.
Don't let looks decieve you! Even though the game looks simple, it has surprising depth! Especially if you are like me and forget that you have to juggle both taking care of the enemies AND having enough resources. All in all this seems to be a really good game for this price point.
