About This Game

Chain Attacks

Certain attacks can trigger adjacent adventurers in the same turn. Time these attacks right and you can unleash a devastating attack - helpful when going up against the more nasty demons in hell.

Use Dice to Attack

Roll dice to activate your adventurers. Basic adventurers have simple dice requirements, but more advanced adventurers will require you to press your luck to meet their dice needs.

Heroes Level Up when they Attack

Each time an adventurer is used, they level up, providing increased damage and stronger abilities. Be careful not to level up your team too fast, or too slow.

Save your Heroes' Souls

After an adventurer levels up 7 times, they will ascend into heaven - great for them, not so great for your party.

Features

Build your party from over 20 adventurers to pick from.
Adventurers level up to become even more powerful, and eventually ascend to heaven.
Select from over XXX items to equip your adventurers with.
Find game-breaking combos with over 120 unique relics to augment your playstyle.
With 20 unique demons to defeat, every playthrough is unique.

About the Game

Dice with the Devil is a party-based, dice-chucking, deck-building roguelike. Assemble your crew of adventurers, each with a different dice requirement. Some adventurers have simple requirements but offer limited attack benefits. Other adventurers require you to press your luck to fulfill their requirements, but can really dish out the damage. Adventurers can combo with other party members, allowing a clever player to perform massive attacks in a single turn. However, Dice with the Devil is a game of timing - make sure your combos pop off at just the right time, as opportunities like this may not come around again soon. Adventurers become more powerful after each use but only have a limited number of uses before they retire - adding an additional wrinkle to the timing puzzle. Between battles, upgrade your party with new adventurers, powerful items, and unique relics - all to help you defeat increasingly more powerful enemies.

This is a hidden gem of a roguelike that I'm very happy was recommended to me. The basic mechanic is you start with a set of five dice that you automatically role at the start of a turn, with two rerolls and the option to lock the dice you want to keep. You start with a team of two minions and a relic generally, each minion has a dice requirement to attack, after which they level up. Each time a minion levels up they gain a new ability along with increased damage of their attack. For example a chain ability lets you also attack with any adjacent minion, so if you plan well you can get these crazy turns where your entire board is attacking and buffing each other. The ability they get with their attack changes each level but if you hover on a minions you can see what each level will give them. After a minion attacks at level 6 they escape hell and leave your party, leaving you with a few powerful single use potions in their stead. So you gotta attack sparingly and plan how many b...

This is a great game for folks who like Balatro or Loot Rascal style roguelikes but want a bit more thinky complexity (but not an overwhelming amount). Figuring out how to optimize position-based buff and create effective chains is super satisfying.

Clever roguelike with a combat mechanic that doesn't rely on managing health. Only damage! The uncertainty of how you will pull through seems to be present with each turn but with some luck mitigation and enough re-rolls, lower difficulties become fairly straightforward after practice.

Other than a couple hiccups in the English translation, very good game. Might need a little more options in the randomization, but overall a good, short-session rougelike.

Raw, but some nice systems here to play with. Worth a try.
