About This Game

Conarium is a chilling Lovecraftian game that follows the gripping story of four scientists and their endeavour to challenge what we normally consider to be the "absolute" limits of nature. Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's novella At the Mountains of Madness, but largely set after the original story.

You, as Frank Gilman, open your eyes inside a room filled with strange, pulsating noises. Patterns of lights executing a Danse Macabre on the walls is presented by a queer device on the table. Having recalled nothing other than that you’re in Upuaut, an Antarctic base located near the South Pole, you find the place deserted and have a distinct feeling of something being terribly wrong. Somehow knowing that your memories cannot guide you enforces a strange feeling of vulnerability, a familiar yet alien sensation of being a part of a peculiar whole... Soon you will discover that having used the device during the expedition, you have died but then returned subtly changed, speaking of strange memories and of strange places. You have lost something important or gained something sinister...

Explore the Antarctic base, as well as dreams and visions. Study clues and unlock secrets, whilst avoiding macabre beings at all cost.

Key features:
 • A deep and suspense-filled Lovecraftian story with lots of secrets and Easter eggs.
 • Ominous but wonderful graphics created with Unreal Engine 4.
 • Multiple endings.
 • A haunting and atmospheric soundtrack.

Powered by Unreal Engine 4, Conarium aims to bring cutting-edge visuals for a more immersive storytelling and gaming experience.

I bought this game exclusively to play for some Halloween spoops, and I'm not too sad that I settled on this one. As a fan of H.P. Lovecraft, it was a pretty good time. I mean you get to (briefly) see
a shoggoth
, so that's pretty cool. Not a 10/10 by any means, but I don't regret playing this one.

Decent lovecrafting walking simulator. It's not a scary game at all but the maps are gorgeous, really capturing the feeling of Mountains of Madness. Voice acting is OK. My only complain would be the endings, way too short and abrupt, it left a bad taste in my mouth, but it's a good game for those who love Lovecraftian horror.

Thoroughly dull, despite my willingness to love basically everything with any amount of Lovecraft in it this entire game is lacking in anything worth your time. There is barely any game play to speak of and the slow pace, inaction and middling graphics and design all leave so much to be desired. I advise you to pass if you are looking for a good Lovecraftian story. Simply watch a walk through on YouTube.

Boring walking simulator. Perfect if you need to fall asleep fast.

This game was pretty great if you're getting it on sale. Worked great on the Steam Deck as well. Story was cool and the environment was great. The environment adds to the suspense and as you go along. You'll find yourself wanting to understand more and more of what's going on. Part I didn't like: There are moments where I would want to backtrack, but once you reach a particular part, the game no longer lets you backtrack. Minor bummer if you enjoy getting a full complete. Other than that, solid game!

It was an alright story, but I wish it had an "you have completed everything in this area or a chapter selection to get stuff you miss. I had problems with some of the puzzles like "the famous door" that people just guess on.
I was glad it was only one hide-and-seek
I hate those kind of things. I am known for doing this not on purpose, but I got stuck in various spaces and that was annoying to load back to so I'll recommend saving as much as you can.
