goblins HATE him! with just one simple trick of planting a spiky desert plant, local gnome archer claims to have taken down whole goblin horde, you too can have one for sun and only a few gold!! [in serious notes the game is a very fun tower defense/rougelike mix, definitely recommend]

User Reviews
It's likely just me, but I really can't wrap my head around the spawn points constantly changing. I struggled and it just wasn't working for me.
Now, I recently criticized some other roguelike tower defense games for the fact that it's near impossible to effectively plan a defense when everything is randomized, but Gnomes (I'm fascinated by the idea that nobody just had a game called "Gnomes" already) is an exception to that, largely because of the huge amount of items that can be procured depending on how well you work the economy of the game. It's a very charming game. One of my favorite small details is that every gnome you place on the board gets a random name assigned to them and they're consistently amusing. This game is worth the price!
Been absolutely loving this game, it's been so nice to have another tower defense game that sticks to the traditional TD formula and uses randomized elements sparingly, but effectively. So many other TD games make randomization the entire focus of the game and, quite honestly, the TD elements usually suffer for it, but not Gnomes Gnomes strikes just the right balance of keeping things interesting by forcing you to adapt on the fly while also allowing you to plan for specific (and often very goofy) builds. It's a game that expects you to learn its mechanics to succeed and then continually rewards you for doing so, everything from stacking buffs so high on your gnomes that you expect the game to break to elaborate cactus plant mazes that shred goblins to pieces with needles and debuffs. Even at 35 hours, I'm still discovering new synergies and every time a run ends it just feels like another opportunity to try again and experiment some more The mechanics are fun, the humor is subtly am...
Gameplay loop feels weird to me and not fun. I was expecting a tower defense game, but this isn't quite that. The path of the wave of enemies changes every round and the core mechanic seems to be moving your units around in-between each round, and hoping good relics to buff pop up in the shop. It is ultimately tedious and not engaging. Graphically, everything is very similar to each other; lacking clear visually distinction between different units, both yours and the enemy. Game is difficult to look at after a short while, with its jagged pixels stabbing into your eyes.
Be careful, this game gets addictive! 100% would recommend
This game looks so simple, but it's SO in-depth and challenging. It needs you to go slow and REALLY think about your strategy, your placement, what you buy per round. Some things are immovable once bought unless you chance upon it in the shop or a re-roll, and even then you have a limited amount of times you can remove an item from shop/hotbar. I bought this game a couple of days ago and I keep coming back to it in short bursts. Haven't yet completed a level but I've been tantalisingly close a few times! It's very fun to figure out how each item works and complements another, and I know I'm gonna get that RUSH when I finally complete a level! I adore this game and I can't wait to see more. TL;DR I JUST GOT GNOMED.
Gnomes is a fun, mouse-only-able game where you can sit back and chill while your army of plants and gnomes demolishes Goblins by the masses. It has good pacing from the early stages on through later areas, each one adding a little wrinkle to your strategies. The Devs seem to be keeping up with adding content, even after 1.0 release. Highly recommend.
Wow, this is a great game! It feels truly open as a tower defense. I highly recommend it for the price. It does get old rather quickly. You will reroll so often that you see all of the relics pretty quickly. Each map, however, provides a different challenge. My advice: Never go roses/crop trample build. Once you do it, you realize it's just super OP and it might make you feel like stopping, haha.
Super fun! There's a lot of ways to skin a cat in this game which I appreciate. Definitely worth picking up!
