Rydia of Mist

From two steam options to play Final Fantasy IV this is worse one. Low poly, pixelated Nintendo DS look of 3D remake has it's charm, added cutscenes with voices are neat and rearanged music is great, but it's all that is good. Story of FFIV was always nonsenical and full of holes, but with neat characters. There is any better in this version sadly, and cutscenes and few retrospectives doesn't help. Gameplay is too much true to original, with a lot of annoying hidden passages, sidequests requirng a luck, a LOT of boring grind and backtracking and i had impression that walking speed is slow. Battles are even worse, random encounters are very frequent and they are so slow and unrensponsive with annoying diffculty spikes, bad RNG and enemy skills that can wipe out your time with two shots and you can't even react, because ofcorse. There is no option to speed things in this version. Remake added some things, like augments, that can lower annoyance, but annoyance is still. I don't belive tha...

Love the remake so much! 8/10!

This was my first time playing Final Fantasy IV, and man, it is boring. The characters are shallow so whenever they either leave (Willingly or not) or get killed off, I just feel nothing. The story isn't all that interesting, and the random encounters are too frequent. The battle transitions weren't the only things rolling whenever they occurred. If you haven't got the nostalgia glasses on for this game, it most likely won't be your cup of tea either.

Not a fan of the 3D style. Some QOL improvements (thank goodness), but on the whole, just not really worth playing now compared to VI,VII,VIII...

Probably my favorite of the 2d games, the 3d remake might not be the best version but it's the version I enjoy the most.
