Strange Brigade is a third person co op shooter with a focus on action and exploration. The game has a fun campaign with beautiful graphics and an amazing atmosphere. However, enemies become repetitive over time, and each stage throws way too many of them at you. On top of that, the puzzle and adventure aspect feels pretty shallow. It plays a lot like Zombie Army, but honestly, I’d still prefer Zombie Army over this one. 5.5/10

My Experience It's just amazing to reflect on. Rebellion - the same Rebellion that developed Rogue Warrior, with its 29 Metascore - developed this gem. Strange Brigade might best be described as a co-op third-person action/puzzle game. You (and up to three friends) pick a character and attempt to stop the threat presented by the ancient evil queen Seteki. Most of the game consists of players alternating between horde-like encounters and puzzle encounters, typically with a boss fight thrown in during each of the game's nine levels. Although a few of the horde-like encounters ran a bit too long, the game's pacing is extremely well done. As the game alternates between high-octane, tense encounters, and more calming and cerebral moments, it's easy to sit down and play the game contentedly for long stretches of time without feeling any fatigue with the proceedings. I had a great time with the game's combat. I used Gracie, who specialized in shotguns, and it was easy to get into a ...
Ignore my playtime, I rebought this gem on steam just to get access to 60fps. I've done my time on the 30fps console version. This thing is... well, it's hard to describe *why* it's unique but I'll give it a go. It's a sort of Indiana Jones / adventure shooter. You play one of a number of heroes with set abilities - e.g., some can take more damage, that kind of thing. They all have their own charm/personalities, some great voice acting here. The game has a ye olde timey voiceover like you'd expect in a 40s or 50s black and white movie, it's hokie but I love it. Expect to have a fair run of guns, undead hordes + the rest, some light puzzles, and great action. I picked up the deluxe edition on sale, rebought as I said after playing the hell out of it on console. If you're wondering if it still stands up today: yes.
good friendslop
Strange Brigade isn’t the kind of game you overthink. it’s the one you grab a couple of friends, shoot waves of undead, laugh at the ridiculous narrator, and suddenly realize a couple of hours have passed. It feels janky in places, but that’s part of the charm. It’s not about perfection, it’s about dumb fun, and on that front it absolutely delivers
Clone of Zombie Army, but in ancient Egypt and so you fight mummies, the general undead, and other mythological creatures. For some reason every ancient Egyptian pop culture or media creation has to have obligatory hieroglyphic puzzles and traps, and this is no exception. You go through a map and get locked into an arena like setting and have to fight your way out. Super annoying because there are multiple waves of redundant enemies and some stronger ones. Basically you end up dodging (or trying to) the whole time but the environment isn't designed for you to do that. You end up getting stuck on objects in the world and get cornered, die, repeat. Lame. Levels consist of fighting your way to a 'soul cage', basically an orb that unlocks when you kill enough enemies. Shoot the orb. Repeat in cyclic nature until it blows up. Puzzles are annoying. Some main bosses exist and have succinct patterns, but you're beset by legions of undead and the a-holes who sprint at you and other a-holes that...
