I bought this game thinking it would be somewhat similar to The Cabin Factory which i think was really great game especially for it's price. Unfortunately I was disappointed as it didn't deliver as much as a fraction of what The Cabin Factory did. The ambient starts really strong from the very beginning giving the feeling that something's coming, but the only thing that is coming is boredom and lack of hope for anything interesting to happen. The so called "anomalies" are uninspired and underwhelming for example: additional graffiti on one of the signs. The fact that you have to look for them really hard and often miss them because they're way to subtle kills the atmosphere and makes it boring, and in the long term irritating as you fail for the x time in the row to find "anomaly". All the anomalies that I did encounter were with one exception(phone ringing) just static things, with no additional effects that were just waiting there for me look at them and go back. No animations, no li...

About This Game

Departed is an anomaly detection game, where you are stuck inside a looping subway system. To escape the loop and win the game, you must explore your surroundings and identify anomalies that differ from the original environment. Only by boarding the correct train 9 consecutive times will you reach your goal. Can you trust your memory? Can you make your way through the endless platforms, or will you get lost forever?

Upon your first arrival on the platform, start exploring your surroundings and memorize every detail. With each new iteration of the platform, stay alert for changes—big or small, visual or acoustic. Every difference matters. If you spot an anomaly, return to the train you came from. If you are sure there is nothing out of the ordinary, go ahead and board the train across. A correct decision will bring you closer to your goal, but a mistake will send you back to the beginning instead.

In Departed you are looking for your closest friend, who went missing without saying goodbye. Before the disappearance, you often talked about exploring a local urban legend found in a mysterious subway station. Following this lead you soon find yourself caught in a loop, where the only way to escape is to play by the game’s rules.
Can you trust yourself? Will you find your way through the seemingly endless platforms and learn what happened to your friend? Or will you get lost forever in the subway system?

Challenge yourself:
Over 60 anomalies! Can you find all of them hidden in the game?
Compare your detection skills with other players on the Leaderboard!
Discover the Endless Mode and see how far you can make it!
Average Playtime: 30 - 60 minutes.

User Reviews
Nice game in the Exit 8 type genre! Some of the anomalies are obvious and some are really tough to catch. Definitely spend some extra time looking at every detail in the baseline room. I appreciate the level of detail in the anomalies, though some might find it to be too difficult. There is quite a bit to look at. Also, without spoiling, really interesting take on the progression of the game and ultimately winning.
