Dread Flats is a tense, atmospheric horror game with some seriously gorgeous graphics and visual effects. The opening section nails the psychological horror vibe—slow, tense, and creepy in all the right ways. Every sound and shadow keeps you on edge, and it feels like something is always lurking just out of sight. The second half leans more into survival horror. Usually I’m not big on that, but it still worked here. The pacing stayed intense, and it added a different kind of tension that kept things fresh until the end. For a first game from the developer, this is an easy recommendation for any horror fan. Plus, there’s free DLC on the way, which is always a bonus.

Very solid game, and enjoyable from start to finish. It has quite a few jumpscares but it definitely tries to rely on atmosphere. The way the game builds up lore and progresses is fantastic to me, and the objectives flow really nicely. The graphics have a gritty feel which really elevates the setting of the game, making it seem creepy, barren, abandoned, and worn down. The game is incredibly dark, making you feel vulnerable at all times. The story was also surprisingly good and ambiguous. I have quite a few gripes but they are all pretty minor. Also minor spoiler warning: - The sound design for the first half to two-thirds I think could be improved quite a lot. While I think the visuals were great, I think more creepy sound effects and music would really amplify the fear factor, as I honestly wasn't really scared. - The walking and running speed is very slow when I played, but looking back on it, it does complement the tension and vulnerability. - The darkness I think is a bit too dar...

DREAD FLATS is a unique blend of narrative-driven adventure and survival mechanics set against the backdrop of a harsh, unforgiving wasteland. Developed by Paranoid Productions, the game invites players to step into the boots of a lone protagonist struggling to survive in a world that is both mysterious and hostile. Its atmospheric storytelling, coupled with a minimalist yet striking art style, creates a tense and immersive experience that gradually unfolds as players explore the desolate environment, gather resources, and unravel the secrets lurking beneath the surface. The game’s strongest asset lies in its narrative approach, which unfolds in a slow, deliberate manner that encourages exploration and reflection. Players traverse an expansive but barren landscape, encountering cryptic clues, environmental storytelling, and scattered remnants of a civilization long past. Dialogue and journal entries reveal bits and pieces of the lore, often delivered through hauntingly sparse conver...

I want to like this game, but its so clunky I cannot even change settings, and the resolution will randomly change. Hoping they work on it a bit since I cannot even finish it

Honestly it isnt too bad. Has a unsettling atmosphere which is great! I do have 2 cons to list however. 1. Motion Blur. There needs a graphics option to disable it. 2. Low FOV. I get it. Its suppose to make the game feel claustrophobic, but it gives me a headache. Minus those 2 cons i think its a good game for the fact that its the Devs first game. Massive congrats for that! Look forward to the DLC to come out in the future

It was great atmospheric horror until it wasn't. Ghostcase does a great job building up fear until finally throwing the player in to absolute horror. There's many scenes where the player has nothing they can do but sit, watch, and anticipate. The story elements are more compelling than most short horror games have to offer as well. However, it falls flat in the last ~1/4 of the game. The "stealth" is awful. It's reminiscent of Sorcerer's Garden from Runescape in 2007. Wait for entity to path past, then go. "Hiding" in this game is absolutely ridiculous as well. The entity can chase you right up to furniture, but if you crouch and go under it, it immediately forgets you exist. Fear is very quickly replaced by annoyance. Additionally there're many chase sequences where the character runs at a snails pace, and the entity is no faster. It is a shame that such a great start to the game was ended with such a bad taste.

Dread Flats is like your abuela’s haunted apartment, but she really regrets waking you up in the middle of the night. 7 outta 10. Its cool. It’s a slow‑burn horror best enjoyed in one sitting with the lights off and headphones on. I forgot to mention Its basically another walking Simulator with light puzzles (if you can even call it that)

Cool indie horror game, and the first game from this company. Took about 2-2.5 hours to complete, but very enjoyable.
