I guess I'd describe it like Metal Slug if it was a Metroidvania. I don't like it. I found navigating the map to be a pain in the ass, especially because the combat is borderline mind numbing amounts of boring. It fits the arcade aesthetic nicely, but my goodness doe sit just feel terribly boring to play.

Absolute trash. Lost half my progress, which is not worth the pain to recoup trying to remember which parts of the map's items I had or hadn't collected between the saved point and where I actually got to. Frustrating and poor QOL. Wish I could refund this garbage,

Non-stop fun straight through to the end. Initially I bought this game simply because I'm a sucker for Metal Slug and Metroidvania games, but the game pleasantly surprised in many ways beyond the sum of those parts. Lots of care was put into the levels, enemies, and the large variety of weapons and abilities. This keeps things fresh as you progress. Difficulty is just right on normal mode, and there are all sorts of little secrets and intractable map pieces that were fun to discover. I'll be looking forward to more from Gelato Games in the future!

Very fun metroidvania game. First run is pretty chill. I've also appreciated all the references to old 8/16 bit games. The most shocking to me was a reproduction of a TMNT underwater electric seaweed level. Honestly I even got scared for a second, but then I've realized it's just a reference and it's 10 sec long to beat and I shouldn't worry to be stuck here for days. It was funny.

One of the most fun Metroidvanias I've played outside of the games that make up the genre's name.

This was excellent. I've played this developers games in the past and I always thought that they had a genuine care for what they were making and that really shows with Guns of Fury. The entire game is rife with polish. It's got just the right amount of difficulty, just the right amount of exploration, and so many secrets and fun stuff to find. Not to mention the pixel art is really really well done. Obviously this game is inspired by Metal Slug and I think they took all the right inspirations while mixing it with a Metroid style formula. It works really well. Hoping to see more from these guys.

This is how it's done! Finally! This is how you do Contra/Slug games. GOD I love this so much. I play it on the Switch too and it's hard to put down.

Really impressive game with amazing pixel art and a well-crafted atmosphere just like the Castlevania games, but I really need it to run at more than 60 FPS, or for backgrounds to be scrolled differently somehow. Every time they move, they're such a blur and it's a little nauseating.
