Graphics and gameplay options are limited. Controls have substantial latency. Combat is janky as hell. Ammo barely exists. Why are the aliens just gray humans with red eyes? Why does the crossbow sound like a pistol? Why would a crossbow bolt cause an oven to explode? Why did all the shadow guys turn to ash when I beat up their girlfriend? Why does the game crash as soon as I complete the map in the school? Why is my character's reaction to a deer flying through window, "Well, I guess I'll go outside without any idea what the threat is and without ammunition or weapons aside from THESE FISTS and my a goddamn run for it!" Leading me to wonder, "How have you survived this long?" How did she not know there was a house a 2 minute jog from her cabin? How did she get from the house to the school? Why didn't I get to explore the house for more resources before heading to the school of my own volition instead of being railroaded by a cutscene that explained absolutely nothing about why I was ...

Unfortunately I purchased this games because of the user reviews being so positive about the combat... Not so much the case. Combat is very comparable to Callisto Protocol where melee combat is nothing more than a series of quicktime events that the player must simply suffer through in a game of simon says. On paper it sounds great, you have counters, throws, tackles but in execution every input is extremely delayed resulting in a very disjointed and disconnected feeling. The game feels incredibly unfinished and unpolished and doubles down on wasting the players time with cheap deaths, unskippable cutscenes and lack of checkpoints. Framerate is terrible on any reasonable setting, meaning if you want a constant 60fps you will need to run the game at medium to low setting at a very low resolution (sub 1080) in order to maintain. Theres is good stuff here but this is an early access game, not a finished product.
