It's almost like it's missing another 6 months of mechanical polish, it's not a bad survival-horror, it's just a bit janky and somewhat underdeveloped (depending on the area), that said, I can tell the developer cares about the medium, it's just one of those things, the intent is good, the result is maybe not so great. To be fair when it comes to PS1 inspired horror that janky feeling is almost a feature, there is a threshold of "bad" that I will accept, but I do think this game need more than a few adjustments. There is a world where this game can be much better, it's just a depends if the developer wants to keep working on it, will that happen, I don't know. There is clearly some heavy Silent Hill inspiration, even to a point where it feels like it recreates similar scenes and locations, which is not super original, but many games do it, and hell, maybe you want that anyway. I don't have a problem with how the game looks, although the navigation in this game can be a bit disorientin...

About This Game
Fragile Reflection is a retro-styled 3rd person survival-horror game set in Japan in the late 1990s, in the dark corners of a mysterious city shrouded in darkness and secrets.

The game is inspired by the aesthetics of the classic survival horror game series.
As you progress through the story, you discover a supernatural power that gives you the ability to move between the ordinary world and Reflection.
Reflection is an otherworldly place that preserves traces of the past. Use two worlds to solve puzzles and find answers!
Something terrible has happened in this village - where did these creatures come from? Is it possible to stop this nightmare?
Help the heroine survive in this horror in reality and find her parents. Explore the Japanese city of Nankofuraku, solve puzzles, keep an eye on ammunition, make the environment benefit you!
After a disturbing call from the local hospital, Kario Ito immediately went to her hometown, Nankofuraku.
The heroine will have to find out what has been hidden from her all these years, and survive, fighting off grotesque monsters in masks of traditional Japanese Noh theater, storing history, symbolism and some special power.
The village is being engulfed by Reflection, a parallel world that holds fragments of the past events , feelings and emotions of people who lived on this sacred land.
Who will Kario ultimately trust if even her own reflection doesn't reveal the whole truth?

User Reviews
so this game released as a finished project, not early access, so i am going to judge it as a full release. this game needs a minimum of 6-9 months more to bake. the user experience is just pathetic, unfortunately. it just feels like a student project or game jam with no polish whatsoever, which imo is not worth the $13. the market for sub $15 survival horror games has a lot of good to offer and this just doesnt stand tall with them. i really wanted to give this game a try, it has potential but its not worth the price rn, sorry. some of the issues i had within 15 minutes; cutscenes either WAY too loud or no audio at all. extremely clunky inventory ui all tutorials prompted the A button, regardless of the actual input for the command. floaty combat with no response. settings menu jank, sliders having way too strong of an effect. dialogue either being way too loud or way too quiet. the world had no interactions other than key items and doors, no "its locked" or "theres nothing in there...
They're quickly fixing bugs and adding QOL updates, and you can tell a lot of love went into this game to begin with. It's really a nice atmospheric homage to classic survival horror. Love it!
I still haven’t finished the game, but will on this week I’ve encountered some bugs ofc, but it seems that dev is fixing them, so don’t care honestly, enemy difficulty have recently improved, so gonna finish it soon!! Atmosphere is NAILING, as well as the music. The story is somewhat confusing now (again still haven’t finished yet), but I will figure it out. The overall gameplay is sending me back to Silent Hill (the true feeling of this COMBAT is recreated) anyway I think the game is good overall, just little bit rough (but it’s definitely changeable)
The first game ever to feature a logarithmic camera sensitivity slider!
