Detective of the Dead

Detective of the Dead is a narrative adventure game with RPG elements in which you are a dead detective in the colorful Mexican afterworld. 

A very personal matter drives you undercover – as cook you get close too all sorts of suspects for your cases. And the better you cook for them the more they tell you what they shouldn’t. At night you use these clues to get further in the cases.
It turns out only you can prevent a conspiracy to ruin the famous Día de los Muertos forever, basically the end of all worlds. No pressure! But yes, that the main quest, if you wondered.

Luckily you are not alone: your magic companion dog Xolo helps you investigate and solve cases with magic abilities. Actually you switch to become Xolo to do all that. Yourself you still need to do some clever interrogation, clue finding, getting puzzles done and winning in mini-games like shooting Piñatas.

Your path will cross with dead gangsters to royals and world known artists. From the street level to the roofs to the interior of houses or bars - you can explore the underworld.

Your decisions make a difference in the story on the way to a hopefully happy ending for you and everyone else.

Be prepared that things in the afterworld are a bit different than in the world of the living. It's more than the ancient god's powers...

Everyone in the afterworld is counting on you on the big case - well maybe except the bandits you are after. But even for them the Day of the Dead is special. Because only on that day everyone hopes to be able to visit the world of the living. To meet your friends & relatives, taste your favorite food and just have a good time. You know these basics from Coco, documentaries or even from James Bond. That´s where we start with our Cooking & Detective work.

Apart from that - do you think the Dead in the Mexican underworld just have fun, play music, no need to work - so everything is great when you´re dead? Think again, most people don´t change, even when they are dead. And everyone wants this Marigold, the unofficial currency in the underworld, to travel longer to the world of the living when the Day of the Dead arrives. So there are a lot of cases to solve. Just concentrate on the big one that is about saving the day for all, alright? Depending on your decisions the outcome will change for the better or worse. We hope you can solve the big case and make sure the Dead can go to the world of the Living on the Día de los Muertos.
