I was going to jokingly call it a game of tag with the hydrophobic kin of SCP-173 and weeping angels. But I have to admit those statues are rather unnerving. So calling it a horror-puzzle is justified. And I usually only care about gameplay, but the style here deserves praise too. So allow me to quickly describe both. Gameplay. Every level consists of several interconnected corridors that have an exit door, one or several switches to open it and some enemy statues that only become active once you walk in front of them. Those statues don’t move when you look at them and you get a couple other gadgets as you progress to help deal with them. New mechanics and statues get introduced every few levels, but those are the basics. Your objective is thus to plan your route around the level and choose when to look at the statues and when to let them move to the right position before making them freeze with your unblinking stare. To help you plan easier, the game even gives you a minimap. In sh...

About This Game
Horror games, among other things, are all about the lack of information, they're about keeping the player in the dark, both thematically and literally, but also mechanically, while puzzles, by design, are required to communicate all the information the player could possibly need, in order for them to be solvable, which is why, even though puzzles feature heavily in horror games, they are always separate from the horror, and are used as either filler, or a distraction.
But, what if the WILLING acquisition and relinquishment of information, was both the main puzzle mechanic, AND the main horror element?
What if the monster was both a threat to be overcome, but also a puzzle to be solved?
ZENOMATRIX is a first-person puzzle game that seamlessly combines a classic horror mechanic and puzzle-solving in a way that has never been done before.
Explore colorful, surreal worlds inspired by the "Silicon Dreams" aesthetic of late 80's/early 90's CGI.

Solve puzzles where you must think ahead and plan every move if you want to make it to the end, dealing with enemies that will move to attack if not directly observed.
Learn how to use the different gadgets and mechanics provided to you, as well as the environment and even the enemy behavior itself to your advantage.
The game also features a very easy to use level-editor that players can use to create, modify and share their own levels, allowing for potentially endless hours of fun and creativity, long after story mode is finished.

neat little puzzle game! startled me a few times lol there's a small bug near the end, where if you look at the entity as it despawns you can get stuck in the immobile state, but it's not a big deal. thanks for making!
Nice puzzle game, I like the silicon dream graphics. Technically it's not too long, but it's also kinda cheap, I say technically because that's the main maps, the game has a map editor so we can make custom puzzles. The game started crashing constantly after map 6-3, I limited the fps to 60 and that seemed to fix the issue. The puzzles themselves are mainly about those weird mannequin thingies, there are different kind of mannequins, each with their own "ability", they are enemies but at the same time you need to use them in some maps to progress. Just a heads up to anyone with the same muscle memory as me, there is no button rebind settings, so every time I wanted to pause the game I would press Esc, which sends you to the main menu, the pause button is P instead. There is barely any need to pause the game, most of the time there are a lot of areas in which if you stand still nothing will happen to you, but if you are also used to pause the game each time you want to alt tab or do som...
So there is a level of bias because I will not lie to the people. But still this is a very solid game! $5 for a horror dreamscape with scary entities that want to hug you is always a fun time. It’s even more fun when it is actually a fun game! IMO we are at the tail ends of the whole back rooms genre but this is delving backwards in time and striking a chord with early vapor wave 90s computer aesthetics! For the price of a bar beer I’d rather play this game and drink my beer at home. I can’t wait to finish it and see how it evolves!
Nice little first person puzzle game. Usually, it is not my favourite genre, but this has some really unique elements to it, plus a pretty cool design
Some challenging puzzles that are sometimes a little finicky, sometimes requires quick reactions but imo that's a good thing to add to the horror vibe Fairly priced and engaging. Don't expect to beat it in one sitting, best played through for around an hour now and then.
Very good puzzle design. Wrinkles the brain.
an interesting concept, but the horror elements just get in the way of the puzzles (which aren't that good in the first place). Plus it crashed pretty much every time I finished a level, so...
