The game is charming, simple, with good designs representing the microbes, cool sound aesthetics, and perfect tunes to keep you engaged (and meditative when in slowdown, lol). The narrative is minimal, not the selling point, but the (true) final boss —
WHAT? Apocalyptic-phallic-centaur made of cubes from a satanic book?
OK. Gameplay-wise, it’s simple but thrilling. Shoot, dash, and that’s it. But two hits and you're ERRADICATED (very much my thing). The fight designs are solid (with a few exceptions). Bosses' attacks are creative, with clear alerts, but sometimes the AI feels a bit random, which isn't ideal for a game that demands precision. It's manageable, tho, and doesn't waste your time as you return to the fight immediately. Not affects the fun for me. I recommend it if you like the themes or genres, or if you're not easily frustrated by dying a lot. For me the game only gets tough after the second third, but my friend had a hard time trying the t...

VirusRush has a lot of stuff that I like in games, and a lot of stuff I feel could be improved on, so here's a list. Pros: + Good controls. Shoot, dodge, lock-on (which is finnicky because it doesn't always lock onto the thing you want) + Solid boss design. Lots of unique creatures with strong silhouettes and telegraphs for their attacks. Easily the best part of the game is the art style. + A variety of shot types and assists. + A legitimately good soundtrack with adrenaline-pumping tunes. Cons: - Please do not make me have to injure my thumb to play the game optimally. Either give me a turbo shot or don't make it so the best way of beating most bosses is just mashing nonstop. -Bosses don't die instantly when their bar is empty, for some reason? Oftentimes, they have to finish their current attack animation and will kill you when they're already supposed to be dead. This is an easy fix. - I ran into a few enemy bugs where certain bosses (the stomach and the mouth) became un-targeta...
Decent game. Starts off slow, but about the sixth boss boss it becomes somewhat engaging. The visuals are nice, even the psychedelic parts, though a bit confusing at times. The soundtrack is solid as well. 7/10
First of all, it’s a difficult game, and you’ll need to learn to deal with some level of frustration. However it's fairly ballanced I have mixed feelings with the visuals. I like the bind of isaac carlarts horror thing, but characters don't glue in the world very well. Well, the environment and overall design are a bit simple, but I believe they did their best with the human body representation. Everything is decently portrayed—of course, not with exact proportions or colors, as there are some poetic liberties. The bosses could have a sharper and more distinct appearance, but as a microbiology enthusiast, I recognize they worked wonders with the designs: everything is essentially balls and sticks. A bit more visual polish in certain textures and models, especially in the early stages, would have been welcome, but the charm of the animations more than makes up for it. Pros: -Well-represented biology theme -Decent challenge -Music that stays fresh and keeps you playing more -Vari...
Don’t settle for the first ending—keep playing! The game expands significantly in the DLC section, where everything feels much more polished, and the bosses are far more memorable.
I broke my joystick. Love it! lol
