About This Game

After a series of unfortunate events, you find yourself surrounded by an ice-covered wilderness. Isolated from the rest of the world, you must rely on your own wits and limited resources to survive these harsh conditions in this Sandbox Survival in VR.

Your main goal is to stay alive, but how?

Build your Base: Build a shelter to escape the frost and replenish vital strengths. Enjoy the freedom and construct it however you like. Warm up, protect from wild animals, wait out a snowstorm, store resources, and craft needed equipment there.

Tools & Weapons: To survive and fully exploit your surroundings, you will need a variety of tools. Every tool and item has its purpose and durability, which determines how long it can be used until it breaks.

Hunt, Craft & Gather: Hunt wild animals to gain food and resources. Collect items to craft tools, weapons, or clothing necessary for survival.

Surviving isn't easy. Strategizing your moves is crucial to staying alive. Complete essential tasks during daylight and be aware of the darkness, as nighttime brings lower temperatures. Weather conditions are unpredictable and change dynamically, so always be prepared!  Explore a huge map, but remember that not every place is safe; some may be inaccessible based on your current gear.

Survival isn’t just about staying alive, it’s also about staying sane. How do you keep your humanity in this frozen hell?
In Frost Survival VR, you must take care of not only your physiological needs, such as hunger, thirst, and keeping yourself warm, but also your mental health. If you neglect it, reality may start to blur with illusion. Fake sounds and creatures will make survival even more challenging. But beware - some figments of your imagination can harm you!

Try to survive alone or cooperate with others in a multiplayer experience.
Do you like playing alone? Don’t worry, there are some uncovered secrets scattered across the frozen wilderness that will help you endure. Or you can work together with other players: gather resources, insulate your shelter, and defend against threats like cold, hunger, and dangerous animals. Shape your survival sandbox experience your way!

The project is co-funded by the MEDIA strand of the European Union’s Creative Europe Programme.

Gameplay Loop: 8/10 - not too crazy but the best exclusively VR survival game VR polish: 4/10 - while still playable and worse is definately out there the jank you do find is very common in the gameplay loop and SHOULD be fixed before launch I'm going to start this off by saying that I love survival games and the survival mechanics of this game are great but this game is HORRIBLY lacking in the VR department. your hands and tools get stuck and glitch like crazy often, it takes 5 TAPS to fell a tree and you can throw ENTIRE LOGS HUNDREDS OF FEET (6'x2'dia logs). the invisible laser to grab and pull stuff towards you is at a weird angle and weirdly difficult to use. the game is also heavily lacking in overall polish. the boat youre supposed to fix is obviously an asset and not designed to move around in, books/menus just teleport to your hand open, the movement is extremely jarring if youre moving in the direction youre looking youre incredibly fast but if you look to the side at all y...

coming from habie147's video it's clearly heavily inspired by the forest and SOTF and brings a lot of the same feeling of accomplishment those games provide, but also some new interactive vr elements. if you're expecting the forest vr but cold then yeah, this is the game.

Game is awesome!! Was playing for hour with a friend and the game is quite high quality, even considering that it was released just today. The mechanics are interesting and, for the most part, original. We didn't encounter a single bug. The idea of a dark ghost is quite interesting, and I'd like the devs to develop the theme of mysticism further. However, I'd like the ghost to be not just a figment of the main character's shiz, which only appears to him, but a full-fledged enemy, as in the "Bigfoot" for example. I can recommend this game. Great graphics, few bugs (I didn't meet a single one.), and the mechanics are excellent. upd after 2 hours: found few bugs, mostly related to multiplayer, and related to the fact that, for example, there is meat on the floor, and I cannot pick it up, also some items can behave very strangely, as if a poltergeist were throwing them around the room.

Frost Survival VR Review – A Flawed But Occasionally Fun Time-Killer (2.5/5) Frost Survival VR has some decent survival mechanics, but it’s held back by frustrating design choices that make the experience more tedious than enjoyable. The Bad: Annoying Menus & Unnecessary Mechanics No Proper Pause Menu: The worst part? All settings and options are buried in the in-game crafting book instead of having a normal pause menu. This is incredibly inconvenient, especially in VR where quick access to settings matters. Forced Insanity System: Much like Green Hell, the game includes an insanity mechanic that feels unnecessary and more annoying than immersive. It doesn’t add depth—just frustration. Lazy Crafting & Building: The crafting system is barebones, and building structures feels half-baked. There’s no real satisfaction in progression, just repetitive busywork. The (Sort of) Good: A Mindless Time-Killer If you ignore the flaws, it’s an okay way to pass time. The ...

I can't recommend it right now...very glitchy and not EA The player running is stuttering , just like if i was switching between running/walking every 5 seconds - no toggle running option - if your joystick is not brand new and not going forward to the very 100%, it will do that, not even sure it's the dead zone of my joystick as other game with exact same mechanic doesn't do that at all. First (very) small update did things nobody asked for, and fixing only the logs glitching into the ground, all remaining items might still do that, randomly, Taking items is too many times inaccurate - EDIT : always inaccurate, worst VR game I ever played on this point - much worse than most early access games. Even though the game is graphically very low, it feels like a constant non-smooth experience (with 14900KF+4080) and NO graphics options. EDIT : FPS LOCKED...... Many things are missing, such as knowing the state of your tools for example, and avoid going for a 20min run to just break the freak...

I absolutely love this game! It's a survival / crafting / base-building game set in a frosty alpine region. The building is a lot of fun, especially with friends. The weather system is dynamic and I've been killed by a sudden blizzard more than once. There's also a sanity system that recharges when you're near your buddies or a fire. You start hallucinating otherwise - it's pretty cool. Everything is built for VR from the ground up and that's rare! Will be sinking many more hours into this.

Its a super cool and fun game that is kinda like the forest, but without cannibals(as far as I know) and snow With a tad bit of Don't starve feel with sanity. Overall I love how it plays, how the crafting is, and how homie your cabin can be. The devs are also very active, for instance I use a Vive with vive wands at first I was unable to rotate objects. After mentioning this in their discord, they made a fix and gave me a beta to test in less than 24 hours.

Build, craft, explore, climb, hunt, fish – anything is possible. The first areas are chill to play for me, without becoming boring. Later on, it gets more challenging. The implementation is solid with a few bugs, but with a few patches it could be very good. If you like survival sandbox games, this game is basically recommended. It makes fun. The game could be get an unreserved recommendation once the remaining bugs are fixed, for all player wich like this kind of games.
