I'm a huge fan of the other Okomotive games in the "Far" series and I was really looking forward to this one. Unfortunately, It doesn't quite hit the mark for me. The puzzles are a lot simpler, there isn't as much environmental storytelling, and the main gameplay challenge is basically just to drive your herd really slowly through hazards. The graphics and music are great as usual for an okomotive game, and the calicorns are adorable, but there's just not much here in my opinion. In the Far series, the minute-to-minute gameplay loop of managing your fuel and systems so you could go as fast as possible without setting yourself on fire was really engaging. The goal of this game is also to go fast, but the only thing you have to do is fight against the controls to point your calicorns towards flowers that recharge their boost ability. Kind of disappointing that they took away the complexity from the Far series and didn't replace it with anything else. On the other hand, if the "microma...

This is a little gem of a game. Short, meditative, beautiful and will leave you feeling better than when you started.

It's a good game. I enjoyed my brief time with it. But there's the key word: brief. I'd say it isn't quite as good as the FAR games, it's comparatively even more simplistic. And the price point is simply way too high for what you get out of it. This should be a $10 game. But definitely grab it on sale!

The initial concept is neat and feels very original but then it feels like they didn't know what to do with it so they just made it like "journey." Being that that is an excellent game, it's hard not to enjoy this one, but I also feel a little cheated. If I had payed 5, maybe 10 bucks for this I could maybe recommend it, but for the price and experience, you're probably better off just buying a copy of journey.

Review After 100% Achievements Set off on a journey, make friends along the way, and experience an unspoken story as you traverse multiple biomes and hone your herding skills. The herding mechanic seemed foreign at first, but by the end of my expedition I felt like a master. Your job is to guide and protect these mysterious creatures called calicorns; as you traverse snowy mountains, dark forests, and vacant valleys. There are no hard saves, only auto saves…so be sure to keep track of your missable achievements. The most challenging (and the most fun) achievements are tied to navigational tests throughout different areas in the story. Just a few collectable items to worry about picking up along the way, and a couple fun miscellaneous achievements as well. If you enjoyed the FAR games, I believe you’ll enjoy this one too. Anything Okomotive does instantly goes on my must play list. It's a very enjoyable experience, and a great game to play one evening. Achievement Count: ...

I think these days it's getting hard to find a convincing spot in this overly saturated and aging market of one-evening-filling cinematic/artistic games. Herdling's developers "Okomotive" had gained a great foothold with their FAR series already; and while the second FAR game ended with a teaser for a third game, Okomotive instead took the risk to establish a new trademark, gameplay style and even dimension. I was excited and worried at the same time when I saw the first trailer of Herdling - what an amazing prospect, but will they be able to pull this off at the same time? I'm extremely happy to say that Herdling exceeded all my expectations and has become one of my favorite interactive emotional rollercoaster experiences I've had in my gaming history. And I can say that with confidence, because the game is not perfect, but the wonders it adds to this genre make up for every flaw that my thoughts stay overwhelmingly positive about Herdling. Now I'm worried that every further detail a...

I really feel this game is a breath of fresh air. It has a few tense moments but it's mostly a very calming and enjoyable game to chill with. The art style is really pretty and i genuinely hope this game gets a few nominations (at least) for its visuals at some of the indie game awards. Definitely worth a play through.

If you like Abzu, Journey, Flowers and the like, and you love animals, this game is a wonderful mix of those two parts. I mean you can even pet them, and play fetch, and feed them, and dress them up however you'd like with ornaments you pick up along the way. Now i'm gonna need the devs to release plushies, or stickers, or something for me preorder day one :D
