I don't know. I just don't know. Map game work like this: Map has dudes, dudes fight. Eventually one place is every place, then corruption and debt wipe out the empire. Rebellions, lots of place. Dudes fight. Eventually one place is every place. Repeat forever. It's just a toy you can open up that shows maps changing colors periodically. It does that really well. It has a "wallpaper" mode so you can sort of just project the thing up on your second third or eighth monitor to see how the country with the name you like is doing (oh, they're dead now), but it kind of doesn't really work because it uses too many resources/or doesn't update well in that mode. If you want to just look at it like a goldfish bowl then yeah, it's great. There's no real game to speak of, it's kind of just a screensaver that uses your GPU a bit too much. Still, that has its place I guess. I dunno, who knows, I don't.

I have it running on on extra monitor when working on spreadsheets and I love watching how the world changes over time. The only two minor things would be: 1) After a while the names get to be the "Eighth Kingdom of...", I wish there was a bit more variety in the names to avoid that; 2) A way to have in launch directly into wallpaper mode with interaction off so I didn't have to do it every time. Besides those nitpicks, I love it!

I like the concept of this "game" but really you just watch a history unfold on a map you don't even create. Its all done automatically and new worlds can be generated at any time for you to start over again. The game worlds are NOT in sync. Oceans that appear on one side of the map don't align with the opposite side thus creating a weird looking planet of sorts. For planet generation to match up the land masses and oceanic regions need to seamlessly match up and connect. Otherwise it looks skewed and off. There is zero action to this game. You cant zoom in to watch wars real time (which would be a great feature) and after a while it gets boring to watch fake countries/ regions go at it. Good music.

I can create maps for the stories I've written and start random wars! Tips: You can edit maps. Clear map, add continent, use the height map tool first. Don't try to draw a country on an empty map before doing height map. Random fun: Pick a random nation and try to make it survive as long as possible. Only ally yourself with nations which have good affinity with yours, don't use truce to save yourself and don't add army yourself. Voila! A nation survival game!

I use Fantasy Map Simulator for personal stories I make as like a base and its pretty good for that. I don't have any complaints really besides larger maps and editable populations.

Good game but the game should have the options listed: Deeper Cultural and Social Systems Right now the simulator emphasizes political and military dynamics, but expanding into culture and society would give worlds more personality. Imagine simulating languages, art, music, and traditions that spread through conquest, migration, or trade. Players could watch religions fracture into sects, or cultures blend into hybrids along trade routes. This would make every empire feel less like a color blob on the map and more like a living, breathing civilization with unique identity. Economy, Trade, and Resources Introducing an economy system would unlock new strategies and storylines. Regions could specialize in resources—iron, grain, or rare magical crystals—and wars might be fought over these. Trade routes would become vital arteries of prosperity, subject to piracy, embargoes, or shifting alliances. Watching how economic booms create golden ages—or how resource scarcity sparks famine...

Pretty fum, even for an Early Access game. Hoping cultures get more freedom though, rather that being limited to just western and eastern. I'd LOVE if in the eventual feature this game spanned to the Early WW1 era. I'd also like more stuff to do with Dynasties.
