TRON: Catalyst

I love the TRON universe, the movies, the animated series and even that game on PS3. This was fantastic. I loved the intro part, but I must admit it was a bit difficult for me because I didn’t quite understand the combat and loop mechanic initially. Even the fantastic level design was super confusing with all the levels. Eventually after some practise I loved every minute of it. It was just too short.

I saw Tron when it first came out in 1982, and not many times since then (maybe once). The reason that I mention it is because I love this game and absolutely none of it is based on nostalgia. Two thumbs up for ease of controls, great story and voice-acting, killer visuals, and just enough of a challenge!

Its a story you play this game for. Expect no advanced combat systems. No revolutionary parkour mechanics. Mario cart level lightcycle combat.

This is very good. At first I thought it was raw and stupid, only because I hadn't reached the good stuff yet. It has very long introduction, but it all will make sense. Telling you as a fan, it has 100% legit TRON vibe! also I noticed Anon's animations when fighting with mods, cute.

The structure of a good game is inside here somewhere, but it feels like this was pushed out before it was finished. Granted I didn't finish it because I hit a bug that prevented me from going forward in the story after chapter 2, so I just uninstalled it rather than starting over. It wasn't good enough to restart and try to get past the bug. Great look, great music, good voice performances. Really gets you into the Tron mood. They've created an interesting visual world with an interesting backstory and groups, but you'll just be running across the map doing direct quests at the start and if there were interesting side stories or other things to do it might be a world, but that doesn't exist. It's also weird that there are crates to break to get power and then green icons to get power and there's no difference between the two functionally, like there was supposed to be something different about them that got cut. In fact a lot of the game has a simplicity that feels like a boss ...

I can't seem to put this one down, love the aesthetics and story so far. This game is fire. The difficulty, story telling, it is perfect.
