About the Game
Project Extreme x Despair is here! "Kazutaka Kodaka" and "Kotaro Uchikoshi" comes a brand-new adventure game!
Takumi Sumino is a totally average teenager living in the Tokyo Residential Complex, a place where every day is much like the last and nothing bad ever happens. All that changes when freakish monsters attack the town and start wreaking havoc. A strange creature calling himself Sirei appears and offers Takumi the power to protect those he holds dear... All he has to do is stab himself in the chest!
The next thing he knows, Takumi is in Last Defense Academy, a school in the middle of nowhere surrounded by a wall of otherworldly flames. He and 14 other students have been drafted into the Special Defense Unit, a team tasked with keeping the school safe for the next 100 days. How much are they willing to sacrifice to take back their normal lives and save the world from the grotesque school invaders?
The curtain rises on 100 days of war and despair...
Extreme Despair-Filled Endings
Takumi's choices will decide his future, but there's no telling what kind of consequences these decisions might have...

100/100 Endings achieved, 211 hours spent playing and I still want more. Too Kyo Games has created a real masterpiece that in scale alone, I'm not sure can ever be done again. The future as it stands, with large game companies looking more into A.I. and it's incorporation in games, this may be the last bastion of a game of this scale truly made with human soul. I love this game to death and it's characters, story, and world will never leave me. I've laughed and I've cried all while having an engaging experience I haven't felt in a long time. Do yourself a favor and support this team, if this looks like a game you'd enjoy, don't hesitate.
Quite a lot to unpack in thise one. Ideally I'd have liked to give this game a "mixed" review. However, as Steam does not allow it, I will--with a lot of hesitation, to say the least--give it a thumbs up. This game does not respect the players' time whatsoever, and under no circumstances should you go into it with an intention of finishing all endings. The game was clearly not designed around this at all, sans Uchikoshi's stuff and some of the major parts of Kodaka's routes. The game is split into two parts: introductory experience where Kodaka just leads you by the hand, as he ususally does, ie. Danganronpa and gives you a "full game" experience with that thing along; and a "normal" experience where you get to make decisions for yourself and explore the different routes the game has. And the latter part is where the initially insanely good impression of the game crumbles into nothing but dust. Depending on your luck or deduction skills, your initial "first" route can be a comple...
No other game has had me this engaged for this many days straight, absolute cinema! ¥(▀̿O▀̿)/ Love and Peace!
I love everything about this game. It's like a rabbit-hole -Characters are lovable, or lovably hatable. LOVE AND PEACE!!! <3 -Writing is amazing, can't keep up with it at times, but some of the twists and turns are great. -Gameplay is fun and can be challenging, but I never thought it was unfair, you gotta do pretty bad to not get an S rank. -Endings are great (so far, I've only gotten a few very distinct endings but I'm going for the long haul). -QOL is huge too, they knew what they were doing and made it super easy to redo parts of the story to get different endings. Once you get to that point you can essentially just freely choose which story decision to go to and can skip battles you've already done and get straight to choices/new stuff. If you like games like fire emblem, danganronpa, or persona then this is right up your alley
*Potential spoiler maybe?* The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy isn’t just a game, it’s an experience. The story is beautifully written, and it really feels like you’re with a group of friends trapped in this academy. And no joke, the prologue alone was around 30 hours lolol. Some routes felt slower or less interesting for me, but honestly it was probably because Eito is my absolute favorite and he wasn’t in some of them. I have never really clicked with Komaeda Nagito from Danganronpa. I mean I like him, but it just wasn’t the same as Eito. Every time Eito appeared on screen, I just knew wild stuff was about to happen, and he always made the story more exciting. This game is absolutely unforgettable TT it’s the best, and it will stay with me forever. Thank youu Kodaka for this masterpiece
Honestly, I think that there is a lot to enjoy here for people who like Danganronpa/Zero escape types of stories, and I enjoyed a lot of my time in some of the routes, but there are too many routes and scenarios that are either pointless, or constantly repeated and I don't think that this game respects your time at all. I would give it a mixed review if I could because I enjoyed a lot, but I would never recommend this game to the average person. But if you think you would like it but are unsure, I would look up a guide on which routes to play for the optimal experience and which to skip. Because trust me, after spending 240 hours getting every single ending, it is NOT worth it, there are so many routes and endings that are pointless filler bloat, and there is no reward at the end for it. So if you do want to play, look up a guide.
I got all 100 Hundred endings, loved every character and every path and part of the story was incredible. Truly a goated game.
This game's a giant waste of time. Route 0 is good. 2nd Scenario is good (particularly Ending 1). These two routes alone are roughly 70ish hours long combined. These two routes alone kind of justifies the purpose. The rest of the game is a massive waste of time and the experience is genuinely brought down by the "hundred endings" meme. There's roughly 100-150ish extra hours of different routes and endings that don't really go anywhere interesting or tell you anything new about the game that you didn't learn from Route 0 and 2nd Scenario.
This game has 100 endings, very few of which are duds. It's like an open world narrative game, where you decide to go where your moods lead you when you finish a given task. It's massive, and sure not all of it is perfect, but man... this game is just too good.
