About This Game

Features

Every Step Counts - Make considered decisions, each step, shot and trap you set off drains your limited energy

Outwit, Outfight - Use your light to find them, your axe to kill them.

Fail Forward - Wake up. It was a bad dream. Your achievements persist through death

Investigate the Facility - Explore increasingly confusing and surreal areas as you make your way to the bottom

For Emergencies Only - The handgun is just in case. [The company] says you probably won't need it. It can't be that dangerous, right?

About the Game

Are you sleeping on the job again?

It's your first day at [the company.] You've been tasked with recovering damaged oxygen tanks scattered throughout the facility. Don't ask what they're for. Don't ask where they came from. Aaron used to do the same job. Don't ask about Aaron. Focus on Cynthia: She's kind to you, isn't she? Doesn't she care?

Is anything on the dead internet worth saving?

Every frame of REPOSE is meticulously hand-crafted pixel art. The atmosphere assembled with sharp focus on every detail. Every moment of gameplay methodically built to maximize tension and intrigue. What is this place? The facility just keeps going down and down.

Are you going to find any answers once you reach the bottom?

A very very cool experience with fun puzzles, music, story and a great vibe. Highly recommend the cheap grab

Lord, what a game to play on a Steam Deck OLED (or really, any OLED screen in general). It's a concise, surreal, and visually-eyecatching dungeon crawler through ruins of initially unknown origin, and the handful of nuggets relating to worldbuilding or character compliment the vibes quite well. I did lose patience with the meticulous energy conservation mechanics at one point and just switched to Exploration Mode, but that's mainly a Me problem and didn't really affect my enjoyment of the game in general.

I really enjoyed the vibes of this game. The sci-fi horror setting and the simple but effective design on counting your steps and timing your attacks. Then the 1 bit pixel art put it over the top for me.

Really enjoyable game, found myself addicted to finding out all the secrets. Love that there's an exploration option along with the typical survival. Combat is based on timed reactions, which is a neat little feature. Definitely worth the money!

Repose is an interesting title... [This is a spoiler free Review] --- Let's get one thing out of the way first: This is a very short game, my first playthrough (in which I got almost all achievements and played both "extra" levels) took about 2 1/2 hours. --- Here's what I think the game got right: The story is - at first - very cryptic and mysterious, but - in the end - provides a very simple (and in my opinion quite nice) message to the player. That is all I will say. As well as that, the Graphics are top-notch, being both very simplistic and incredibly detailed. The black and white aesthetic also made Repose incredibly nice to play at night and the multiple colour-modes are a nice touch. Owing to the restrained graphics, I found the game to be very readable with clear indicators of what is what, making traversal incredibly fullfilling and fair. Just enough is left to the imagination to make you build a beautiful world in your mind. Additionaly, the difficult (but not at all...
